    Just awful

I need to stop reading spray. This is unimaginable to me... I'm not a mother *yet* but could see myself walking around in constant paranoia, which kinda scares me. How do you manage these emotions as a new parent when you read something like this?
  3. I'm on your side Muffy. I read/watched it too because of the poster. I am no fool to mistaken Archy's intent here, and I appreciate her sharing the harsh truth of this insane world. In my opinion, the video was more than I could handle and what I felt is appropiate for this website. There are young users that might not understand or rationalize this behavior. I'm an aging woman and still dont get it...
  4. it never occured to me that it would actually show the death. my mistake...
  5. I am very aware of what is happening in this world. I chose to watch the video not realizing it was live footage of a young womans death!! This is not the website for it.
  6. You don't want to watch this at all. This video should be removed.
  7. ugh!!!!!!!!!!! just missing the NOT SAFE FOR WORK disclaimer...
  8. Just have faith. It will all be okay. *Group hug*
  9. Thank you for clarifying.
  10. what does PG 13 mean? can someone also explain "X" and "R" rated? assuming we are still in the 'newbie forum' Thank you.
  11. okay, time-out! Lets agree to disagree. It's been over two years, so maybe it was a matter of time before something like this occurred. It's unfortunate that it was done out of disrespect. Moving forward, I don't think chopping bolts will solve anything... which is where ego comes into play. In the interim "crimper" is right... time will tell.
  12. well, maybe he will cool off given some time. I can understand his frustrations, I can also understand letting the kids play, what I dont get is the full on disrepect from the person that climbed this route. I was there Saturday, saw the red tag at the anchors, knew it was an on-going project. Yeah its been two years, but the original route setter had a baby, injured his back and trying to heal. The plot thickens.... I dont agree with chopping the bolts off. End the pissing contest and lets climb with respect to the rock and others.
  13. Posting here would be a wise first step if the route setter were ‘missing in action’. If you can't get in touch with the person that tagged it red, best to make an honest attempt to gather general consensus BEFORE pulling a rope and claiming victory, regardless of time. Great way to start a war-zone at the local crag............... just my 2 pennies sickie
  14. Tomorrow is 10 days before my actual birthday! sickie oh, and it's movie night too
  15. Maybe I can bring Miles? Bring Miles. I will buy him his first beer along with a shot of Wild Turkey from my flask.
  16. nice, made me laugh out loud. thx!
  17. My big weekend involved hiking to the top of Beacon Rock. Not much you can do with a bad shoulder, but at least I got high. ooooohhhh... and the weather turned to high winds and rain. Totally epic! *LOL*
  18. c'mon Kev, time to leave the couv' for some pub chub! ...besides, I don't want to get my ass kicked if you're not there, and "I'm" representing you!
  19. If I am in town, which will most likey be the case thanks to my recent disability, I will be there too. My vote is LL in Hawthorne.
  20. On a more *positve* note... GLAD everyone made it down safely! ________________________________ 5 climbers rescued from Mt. Hood 11:53 AM PDT on Sunday, May 13, 2007 By TERESA BELL and ADRIANE HORNER, kgw.com Staff GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. -- Five climbers stranded at the 9,800-foot level of Mt Hood on Saturday were safely rescued late that night. kgw.com A sheriff's deputy helps on of the climbers who was stranded on Mt. Hood Saturday night. Searchers said they were able to reach the group quickly with information from a GPS that they had brought with them in case of emergency. "Through the use of GPS coordinates and a mountain locator unit search efforts were swift and resulted in the rescue of the hikers quicker than anticipated. A snow cat was used to safely retrieve and transport the hikers off the mountain," said Sgt. Lee Eby, with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. Video: Watch KGW report The climbers were identified as Brian Anderson, 24, Ben Elkind, 22, and Jeremiah West, 28, all of Portland; Bryce Benge, 29, of Lake Oswego, and Brian Weihs, 39, of Hillsboro. Sgt. Eby said no one was injured. Call for help in white-out conditions The climbers initially called for help on Saturday afternoon; Clackamas County sheriff's deputies said their location had been pinpointed and they were not injured. Sheriff's spokesman Jim Strovink said the climbers had a mountain locator device, a global positioning system and were in contact by cell phone. He said they apparently got caught in a white-out in the 9800-foot area and could not get back down. He said they were initially advised to build a snow cave in case help couldn't arrive until Sunday morning.
