  1. While I like "Special Visitors", I think his new work, "Spring Cleaning", is my favorite:
  2. I'm looking forward to KKKY repeating his kinderkomic discovery over and over and over and....
  3. he had 2 years with a Dem-controlled congress - what did he "accomplish" with them? considering that the Kyoto Accords came out in 1997 and the Republicans took control of Congress in 1995-1997, i'm not sure of the point you're trying to make, but it can't be a good one. You beat me to it. Note how deftly KKKY skips over his previous specious argument like a dingleberry that's manage to slip past the tired elastic of his whity tighties.
  4. Most folks can comprehend a situation where both opposing world leaders belong either in the loony bin or prison. Most can also understand that dissatisfaction with one leader does not constitute support for the other. Most, not all.
  5. Actually, Iranians are a peace loving people how happen to like American culture and dislike their leadership, according to several Iranians I know who have family back there. But what would an actual Iranian know, eh?
  6. If Iran really wanted to punish gays, they'd just let them get married.
  7. No hesitation here. I even snagged limited edition # 1!

  10. I've ordered my limited edition print of "Special Visitors" already. Thanks TB!
  11. I think we all agree that the current system is a cluster fuck of galactic proportions, don't we? It's hard to imagine a worse one, although there are those who assume, as a matter of faith, that anything the government takes over would be worse. This is despite enormous evidence to the contrary: Canada and European health care systems, the ability our own IRS to process hundreds of millions of tax returns in just a few weeks, the ability of our military to invade and occupy a country of 23 million in just six weeks, the ability of NASA to go from nothing to putting a man on the moon in less than ten years.... Creating an efficient, single payer health care system seems relatively straightforward, given how many existing models that are already out there to learn from, in comparison to these achievements.

    Oops.

It must have happened, because the crew of the Kitty Hawk made port sporting new Rolexes and Rord of da Ring box sets.
  13. I found some rogue seedless reds rolling around in the bottom of my crisper. Still crunchy. Had 'em with cottage cheese. SHWEET.
  14. Bush hasn't invited Jim to go mountain biking, as I have extended a very real open invitation for KKKY and/or Shitfeather to prove to this fatboy what lean, mean, mountain running machines they are. You know, mano a mano competition, the very thing they love to spray about. I've proposed a simple race requiring nothing but climbing stamina. No climbing or skiing skill involved, fortunately for them. But, as poster boys for posers everywhere, they won't. From the President they so gleefully voted for on down (can he even ride a horse?), it's all talk and no walk. Welcome to the Poser Nation.
  15. Mine doubles as a windscreen for my stove.

OK, that's starting to sound like a real story.

    Oops.

Sorry dude. Same story. They just quoted the Daily Mail (the British Tabloid).
  18. How about these two?
  19. Shuksan. Traversing the Upper Curtis glacier enroute to the White Salmon. I think.
  20. I've never met JayB, but I can tell you that he's no JacK.
  21. Well, I couldn't agree more with the pay up front - no collections overhead - reduced rate idea. You still have to have a catastrophic plan, however. The key idea here, to either agree or disagree with, is whether or not to amortize the cost of catastrophic care over a large group of participants, or have everyone pay their own way. Given that any one of us could have a heart attack or get hit by a truck, it seems more sane and humane to amortize. This makes insurance necessary. A single payer system could easily include plans which involve paying a discounted rate up front for routine care, while managing only the catastrophic side. Kind of the best of all worlds, because it provides an incentive for payers to reduce the volume of complexity and uncertainty where it's not needed; routine, predictable care (which is probably most care for most people).
  22. Sounds like a reasonable plan for two healthy folks in the short term. I'll look at the links.
  23. Je_Bus?

    Oops.

To be fair, the news source is a tabloid. It's pretty unlikely, given a carrier battle group's capability for tracking subs, that the story happened as reported. It's also suspect that no other paper, other than this tabloid, reported it. Perhaps Batboy was at the sub's helm.
  25. I've never been to me.
