nah, you don't do any of that urban legend stuff, you just eat the caps like normal. They're not THAT toxic. In fact, you can detoxify them and eat them like food if you want. Most poisonings occur when people mistake them for death caps, which WILL kill you.

  8. let's shake things up! Porter, you're the consumate maverick
  9. I've heard she knows more about energy than anyone else in the United States!!!1
  10. WOW! She looks like a Maverick! I bet she's a reformer, too.
  11. This is a good point. The gun nuts are so busy worrying about their guns that they aren't doing shit to push back against the free-for-all abuse of our other constitutional rights. Voting for candidates that aren't in the election as a "protest" is a pretty impotent way of fighting for our rights. Realistically, I prob need guns, not to protect myself from the government, but to protect myself from the gun nuts.
  12. If your rifles + unconventional warfare are enough to take on the U.S. government, then why are we spending so much money on toys? 225+ years ago, we fought muskets with muskets. We didn't go up against the british with spears, which is analogous to the firepower American citizens have against the U.S. Military might. If you want to use Afganistan vs. Russia as an example of how "all you need are AKs", then are you admiting that we have no chance of success in that campaign, ourselves? If the U.S. Army can defeat ill-equipt guerrillas in Iraq and Afganistan, as the republicans claim is happening, then why could they not defeat ill-equipt guerrillas here in the U.S.? Your arguments are full of holes when you try to claim that your rifles are a deterrent to the U.S. Government's military.

Amanita muscaria is not a good hullucinogen anyway. I'd strongly recommend sticking with psilocybin, it's a much better high, and safer. Or, so I've read.
  14. But he helped catch the Green River Killer! And he used to be a cop! He's just a regular hockey mom!
  15. ooh, ooh, I'm dave reichert. I used to be a cop! I'm one of the most ineffective representatives in congress! But I used to be a cop! Vote for me!
  16. If there were a band of domestic terrorists waging war against the United States and the Constitution, you would refuse an order to open fire on them because they're your "brothers and sisters?" I thought you were a military man. Remember the Civil War? The U.S. Army sure didn't have a problem firing upon their "brothers and sisters" then. Why is Fort Knox protected by the military? Sounds like the military would never think to attack U.S. citizens. We should just walk over there, kick open the gate and take some of that gold.
  17. I wonder how the Bush family feels about their son single-handedly destroying the republican party?
  18. no surprise, given the psychotic obsession the current administration has on this topic.
  19. I heard he's also trying to take away pens, and wants to dumb down schools so people can't write their congressman. I heard it's because he's an Ayrab, and we all know Ayrabs are against freedom. They hate us for our freedoms!
  20. I think arc'teryx makes good stuff, but its very expensive (for me) and I've never needed anything like that while climbing in the cascades. I have a cheap ($80) Northface "Hyvent" shell that I use (rarely) all over the cascades, winter or summer. Most of the time, a hard-shell jacket is just too warm while climbing. It keeps snow off of me allright, as well as anything else. And if it's raining, I'm going home. If it's windy, most soft-shells are windproof, and breath way better. I dunno, I guess people will prob disagree with me, and i'm sure it's a nice jacket, but I use a much cheaper one and I've never had a problem. What do you want from your shell? Water protection? Wind protection?
  21. but again, the guns out there aren't checking or balancing a damn thing, like joe said - the 82nd airborne can probably take on every gun-nut in the country together and come out just fine, no? You mean like the entire Wehrmacht against a handful of Jews in Poland? Doubtful the 82nd airborne would do that against their brothers and sisters. I'd look to any banana republic that has banned guns as a role model for the potential without them. If they wouldn't do that against their brothers and sisters, then why do we need checks and balances?
  22. Checks and balances? It's time to start "checking" against the damage the republicans are doing to our republic. I haven't seen the gun nuts exert ANY control over our runaway executive branch. Nor will they, even if they COULD.
  23. riiiight. yr AR-15 against the government's tanks, fighter planes, guided missiles, drone attack planes, kevlar jackets, armored humvees and automatic, belt-fed machine guns. You're only fooling yourself. Sounds like a balance of power to me.
