Those stairs on Capitol Hill (Waterguy's suggestion) are killer. There's also the ones in the watertown at Volunteer Park (between 11th and 15th and Prospect on Capitol Hill).

Nice work! Did you take any photos? A third for DEET... the little soldiers are out in full force (think my BP dropped a few mm this weekend). -
Good work! Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time!

Non-climbing question: Has anyone been down the Smith River in N.California? Planning a trip down that-a-way in a few weekends... Any info on the river/area?

Smirnoff Ice. Sugary goodness is great at any temp. Better yet, S.I. in citrus flavors or Mike's Hard Lemonade... helps restore electrolytes.

Coconut bombs, monkeys, treehouses, cross-dressing swashbucklers... these movies are classics! (Oh and the older brother in Swiss Family Robinson is pretty dreamy too...used to be in Hawaii Five-0...)

I want to get out this next week too! Bri, it was wonderful meeting you too! Way to stealthfully show that climbing can be done in a skirt. -
I just got back from Adams last night. There is still about a 3 mile walk into the trailhead, but with the snow melting fast and only 3 trees down, my bet is that the road should be cleared by next weekend...hopefully

Hi, did anyone climb Adams this last week and would be able to give an update on road conditions along 8040? The forest service webpage seems to have lapsed a bit, and the ranger station says that they have not received any current updates. Any info would be very appreciated... heading up there soon and would love a better idea of what I am in store for. Thanks!

Apparently it's just not hell for the members but also the nice folks waiting at the MLK bus stop!

Bill, I have yet to climb any of the routes up there, but I'm willing and foolish enough to get on anything! Larry might be showing up too. I can be there around 5:45...if I see you great otherwise I'll be on that wall that no one knows about...I think you have a unique name for it... Hope you had a wonderful rest of your Sunday! -
Awwww... Always knew you were a softy, but that's what happens when you start bringing kids to the crag

Nice work you two! I love the pics! No sightings of "the Alpine Bavarian" this time around? -
Hey B, Will post what you find... Have fun!

I just called the forest service (509.395.3400) and there is still a 4.5 mile hike/ski in to the trailhead (southside). I was planning on doing Adams in a few weeks for the first time. Hopefully the road clears up a bit more by then, but, if not, does anyone have any suggestions on another fun, non-technical climb in WA's S.Cascades or OR's Cascades? I was looking into one of the Sisters...?

Exercise science degree? Cent. Wash. University?

If you have the time, I suggest shadowing professionals in these fields. This way you can gather a greater understanding of what that position would be like and if you would actually be passionate about doing it. I chose to pursue the DPT and, in doing so, have found that there is a large variety of options ("scope") offered. Any of these careers consume both an enormous amount of time (preparing as well as once in school) and money, so just make sure you love it. -
Heck yeah Bill. A little "Under Pressure" gets me dancing everytime...
-
Jimlup, Have you gotten out yet? It was a great question... I'm curious to know what you ended up doing.

Bill, I can make it out on Wednesday. It was nice to meet you last week! Oh, thanks for the info on climbing shoes... next time I'll just raid my dad's closet on the lookout for old loafers Take care. (I'll be out on Thursday too...on the slim chance that the weather holds out.)
