You may be onto something there! My friends and I have longstanding joke about climbs we don’t like while we are on them but later sitting around the fire we rave about them.....they are called a funsuck. Does anybody know what kind of biochemistry is involved with the mechanism of action? I'm trying to figure it out.... Obviously the connective tissue is altered, so I'm guessing that there could be interference with respiration somehow. Perhaps calcium binding...........???????? Or maybe even interference with Ascorbic Acid - thus jacking up enzyme action and collagen maintenance. Layton????

Not enough food + insane weather + death blisters from hell + intense suffering = MORE FUN THAN I'VE EVER HAD IN THE CITY. Even the worst climbs, in my opinion, are a wonderful time. I've never "not had fun"

More power to you Muffy! Honestly, if something can work to make you happier, and you are willing to accept the risk, why not? I decided to have wrist surgery couple years ago even though there was a chance I didn't need it. They told me that my bone would either heal great, and I'll have a normal wrist, or it wouldn't, and I'd need to have my wrist fused...... it was a 50:50. Wait, thats not really cosmetic...... but yeah.

NO silly. we are both recovering... so we should chill out together rather than climb goofball... although this no climbing thing is only going to last so long. eventually, like in a couple of weeks if not on sunday, i will go back to climbing really easy again. just really easy stuff OOOOOK. Yeah, I know someone who had plastic eye surgery, and now they can't feel thier under lids... I do think that this culture is pretty jacked to hell, and that [most] plastic surgery is utterly rediculous. HOWEVER, there are circumstances that warrant it. ie. fire injury, massive birth defects, or in the case of genitals having a ton of kids and being permanently reshaped. Or as Muffs said from disease.

Yeah, I've had fun on "bad climbs". I was on the Brothers a couple years ago when a water-mellon sized rock came within three feet of smashing my face and killing two of my buddies. The whole rest of the day we were jittered as hell, but in the end we were so stoked to be alive that it turned out to be one of my most memorable experiences. And there wasn't even anything technical about it - just scrambling.

Yeah, I sort of need to stop doing that.
