Noble? Yes. Desirable? Certainley. Will maintaining such a ideal preclude Islamic Fascists from seeking the destruction of Israel, The US, (insert infidel nation here)? Nay.

Add some weight, Viagra and Oxycontin and I'd be talking to Rush! Let's have some good ethnic cleansing of Arabs to protect freedom! hint: islamofascists aren't the loons with nukes, and islamists want to roll back the clock ~1400 years (it's the Christian fundamentalist wackjobs who want to roll back 2000 years) Take it however you wish. Just letting you know.

I'm not at all surprised you don't get it. All there is to get is this: Islamic Fascists want nothing more than to convert everyone, eriadicate freedom of religion and speech, put the women in burhkas, and basically roll the clock back about 2000 years or so, or kill you if you aren't down with that idea. But we have nothing to fear until they start busting into Jewish community centers and gunning down women here in the US...oh wait.

Yeah that's me brain. The difference between us and the Islamic Fascists is that we don't intentionally target civilians. Yes they get the raw deal being used as human shields by Hezbollah, but if they're not shooting at the Israelis then they're handing the Hezbollah guerrillas the ammo. I don't get off on seeing kids get it. The fighting-age men, too bad so sad.
  11. Dude, definitely go scuba diving. If you're not already certified, then take the crash course before you go. I gave up diving the PNW after diving in Thailand (Phuket). Just awesome.

Israel is doing us a huge favor by taking it to Hezbollah. Go Jews!
  14. Sweet route dude! That stuff looks crazy. Might wanna check that rope for crampon gashes.
  15. VW TDI with a grease kit baby! That'll be the next ride. Burning used VO from Ping's Happy Fortune Buffet.
  16. I need to get on board with the whole one pair of boots thing. Right now I hike/climb in LS Trangos and carry the typical snowboarder boots for skinning and riding the voile. Does anyone have recommendations for randonee boots? Any experience boarding or skiing in Koflachs? It seems there would be a trade off between hiking comfort/weight and downhill performance. Thoughts?
  17. I ruptured the L5 in late 2004 after the PDX marathon and had surgery in Jan 2005. I thought it was just muscle spasms which I've had occasionally for 12yrs. The numbness in the left foot, loss of calf muscle control scared the shit out of me so I got it x-ray'd and MRI'd. The neurosurgeon said if I postponed the surgery much longer I could lose bowel and bladder control. Surgery was a lumbar lamenectomy and a successful one. It will definitely take you out of action for a while though. I heard both sides of the chiropractor debate from alot of different people. The only thing that matters is pain relief so do whatever feels good. I never saw a chiro ,I just got back into the gym and began excercizing gradually. I was back in the game about 4 or 5 months after surgery. Now I can do pretty much all of my dangerous hobbies. In fact, jogging and jump rope are the 2 things that are the most painful, but who wants to do those anyway. Most important: see a doctor and get the tests done if you start feeling numbness. continue working your core muscle groups through zero-low-impact movements know when to back off. If you feel pain don't push it. There is a line between being hard and being stupid.
  18. Summiting Rainier can make you feel pretty damn studly until you find a 12y/o girl and her grandad waiting to sign the summit register behind you!
  19. I heard: me me me I want I need I deserve gimme gimme gimme. Fuck off to Lebanon (Oregon or MidEast) if you want a cheap house. Life owes you nothing.
  20. chicks with WAAAAYY too much baggage seem to dig me
  21. Kewl. Thanks to all for the info.
  22. Any suggestions for areas/routes? I usually climb at Smith and have followed what I was told was a 5.8-5.9. What about priorities when purchasing pro?
  23. Trad style sounds way cooler IMO. At my level, it sounds like I should stick to sport until I can confidently lead some pre-protected pitches. Considering myself an alpinst at heart, trad climbing seems a bitchin' way to increase pucker factor on an otherwise tame route. Thanks to all for the feedback!
