  1. nope, further west...
  2. Any body know where this rock is?
  3. Thanks for sharing CBS! Checked the area out Sunday evening, and I'm looking forward to going back.
  4. Thats a big chockstone! Nice job, looks like stellar climbing!
  5. Thanks DCramer. I've really enjoyed your guidebook. I'd actually hoped to do something other than Hexorsist on the north side, there are a couple of potential lines...
  6. Its covered in "Sky Valley Rock". Anyone interested in checking out this route on Sunday? Or something else?
  7. Just curious if any other climbers eschew the dominant political view of this fine sport. Wanna climb tonight....Anyone?
  8. You know, I have this thread over in "Climbing Partners" that I'm sure will have its already slim chances of being answered absolutely crushed, but I'd rather stay home anyway . Are there any other "religious" climbers out there? Or at least any gun-toting capitalists?
  9. Anybody up for climbing after work tonight? There is a very cool looking crack that leads almost directly above Lunch Ledge, but it bypasses the "traverse". But I'd also enjoy doing the traverse proper..... I'm staying up at snoqualmie pass tonight so I can't carpool, but I'll carry a festive beer up to the summit for you, and show you the quickest way back to the car
  10. Looks fun, anyone have any other suggestions?
  11. Tony, are you saying that Mike wrote that post back in March to discourage others from trying to climb the face just so he could have it for himself?
  12. I am heading up to check out Mt Thompson this weekend, and would like to stumble up some other stuff while I'm up there. Any recomendation on climbs (to 5.7ish) or scrambles you have enjoyed (or wanted to do) in the area?
  13. Sounds cool Bug!
  14. Good pictures, I like the one of jumping across the big gap! Last time I climbed Forbidden I met Jim Nelson and SmilingWhiteKnuckles on top! But I think that would belong in the "Brush with Greatness" thread.
  15. So Ivan, when are we going to hear about your Colchuck Balanced Rock epic?
  16. Any one know the history of the photo on the back cover of the latest edition of Freedom of the Hills? I think its Sean Courage on Chair Peak, any idea what route? Thanks!
  17. I think this route is actually pretty good. Short approach, quick descent, and two fun pitches. I would suggest climbing a fun 5.7ish crack below and too the right of lunch ledge, then doing the traverse pitch, or climbing a fun crack that goes straight up bypassing the traverse. Definatly worth checking out.
  18. Did you go over the northridge notch from goats pass, or around the toe of the north ridge and up the icecliff proper?
  19. You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him Common, lets hear some stories
  20. I ran into some old co-workers last week, and I was wondering what the consensous was on these chaps. Most of them are great people, and a few of them are great climbers, but what say you pundits? Quick story to get the ball rolling: Two fellow guides showed up to work monday morning chatting about their weekend "private climb". Most of the guides head out to Tieton for their days off, but these two studs had their collective eyes on snow creek wall, specifically the classic outer space !! Anyway, they had an epic, and though I am sure they had a good reason, it currently escapes me. Thoughts and or/similar experiences?
  21. When approaching from Ingalls-Goats Pass, can you access the Complete North Ridge without going on the Stuart Glacier (ie skirting beneath it)?
  22. Sweet Jens, so when are we getting out on the Torment-Forbiden Traverse?
  23. Anyone interested in heading up early Sunday morning? I can drive and split gas money. Planning on leaving around midnight, as I have to be back in Seattle by 2:00pm. No ropes, no hardware
  24. I'm planning on heading up the West Ridge this weekend, anybody have some good to times I can shoot for?
