I haven't done the TFT yet but I have done the RKT. I don't think it will ever make it into any "50 best" lists. There is only a little 5th class for a move or two and the rock quality is subpar. I didn't have a rope but I don't remember seeing much in the way of opportunities for gear. The Roosevelt section was forgettable and required some sketchy down climbing followed by some sketchy climbing up to gain the N Ridge of Kaleetan. However, walking along the knife edge N Ridge of Kaleetan is a pretty sweet treat. One might be able to get to it by going over Melakwa pass and skirting Chair Lake; though, the consequences of a slip would be a swim in the semi-frozen lake. The Gem lake approach is very scenic but requires that you go up and over Roosevelt.

Leave no trace. If you kill it, you have to eat it.

I live in Seattle. Some items on my tick list include Enchantments/NCascades Prusik SF routes Stuart CNR Torment-Forbidden Eldorado Snowking North Twin Whitehorse Sahale Shuksan Baker NR WA Pass/Mazama NW Corner or maybe Flycatcher Buttress on NEWS DEB on SEWS NF Burgundy Spire Rebel Yell on Chianti Sisyphus on Goat Wall Squamish Angel's Crest Ultimate Everything RockOn/Squamish Buttress etc

I slept in the back of a truck parked just off the fog line at the Blue Lake trailhead last year about this time. I heard a rumor that it was OK. Practically, I guess it will just depend how far over its plowed. Good luck, have fun and let me know if you're still interested in aid practice on rainy days. Jason

Ya, good times despite getting shut down. Sorry, I picked the only overcast day in a week of high pressure.

Westlake and Galer to the top of Queen Anne hill is 400 ft of stairs in less than 0.5 miles. ~3 miles of flat from Ballard bridge and a little less on the return trip if you do it right.

PMd ya. I have a like new Cheap Bastard from Metolius that I bought from a friend that was moving. I'll sell it to you if you're interested.

i'm a paranoid agnostic - i'm NOT certain there's a higher power, a Dig Dude w/ a beard lazing about in a comfy robe on fluffy cloud somewhere, but IF there is one, he's a cock-sucker and surely out to get me All the more reason to pick a cock-sucker and pray to him. Hedge your bets.

Exactly my point. I'm agnostic for that reason.

Quite different. Science is empirically proven and each of the rules can be reproduced with 100% accuracy during an experiment. This is what differs science from religion, where some drunk can hear what a friggin hat is telling him or some other imaginative bullshit. 99.9% not 100%. ...and empiricism is a theory that claims our sensory experience is the basis of Truth. How do we know were not living in the Matrix? http://phys.org/news/2012-10-real-physicists-method-universe-simulation.html
-
The assumption that the scientific method reveals Truth is a belief. You (and I) take it on faith. How different are we from the born-agains really? Do you believe there is no proselytizing in science? How about exaggeration of observations? Corruption? Politically-influenced decision making? Blindfolding? The list goes on.
