  1. I believe those are evangelicals, not catholics. And by "belays updated to modern standards" do you mean indoor standards as opposed to those nasty and complicated outdoor gear and top-rope anchors. I am expecting a couple of large bolts for top-rope anchors. And somehow, the mystery bolt choppers need to repent. It is complicated and who own this nasty piece of land?
  2. There are some fine routes at rocky butte. If it was cleaned up and the belays updated to modern standards, it would be very popular with local climbers. It’s a neglected area, surrounded by freeways and Catholics. Does the city own the cliff? Their map seems confused.
  3. I agree with Chris, Rocky Butte is a pig sty and that makes it fucked place to climb. I rather go someplace else then pickup used condoms. Luckly, Portland has other options.
  4. Note she's not a model... she's a kick ass tele skier. Note: she's does both, models (see attached picture) and a kick ass tele skier (according to PaulB).

    WTF?

I check all my insurance--it is my second largest expense behind mortgages. My largest expense is taxes. San Diego is full of white rich conservative types, of course Bush is going to help them out.

    Amazing

tuning a cube may not be a waste of time, but watching someone turn a cube is. At least it was only 11 seconds.

    Dog on Hood

Oregon lawmakers push bill requiring mountain climbers to climb with dogs on Mount Hood SALEM, Oregon: There is danger aplenty on Oregon's tallest peak — including avalanches and crevasses. Some say dogs can improve the odds of survival. Several Oregon lawmakers want to require dogs with all climbers above 10,000 feet (3,048 meters) on Mount Hood — an idea mountaineers resist. Rep. Jim Lame, chief sponsor, contends that three climbers who died in December might be alive had they had a dog.
  18. I am glad they are back home safe, but can you really call them climbers if they had a dog with them? I think they should be called a lost party of hiker instead.
  19. You must be a woman to make that statement. no, just aa enthusiastic donor.
  20. to climb is her choice alone. she is the controller of her being. just like abortion; her choice. its got nothing to do with the sperm doner.
  21. If you think your going to slip on a 5.7 climb, then please don't solo or simul-climb it.
  22. Consider leaving the rope behind. Solo climbing without a rope provides a unmatched commitment to an expereince of freedom. And depending upon your simul-climb partner, it may be safer.
  23. Just be sure to checkin with the ranger and have a great climb!
