Anybody interested in Exit 32 or 38 on Thursday? The weather looks pretty good. I'm 49, comfortable leading 10 b/c, don't mind putting up easier or trying harder, it would be my first time out of the gym this year (whoo hoo!) I've got a rope, rack, and car. I'd be coming from Olympia, but I can swing through Seattle if you need a ride. I'd like to get there by 10 or 11, climb for a few hours or until my arms fall off. Doug

Cool bouldering videos, thanks.

What high rep weight exercises do you think are important? And I'm doing pretty good at keeping enough weight on.

Gogol Bordello, Magnetic Fields, Epoxies

If true, it's wierder than being a hypocrite, it's got a self-hating, self-denial aspect that's pretty out there. And it keeps happening- as with Catholic priests, etc. supressing sex seems to make people act out in strange ways. It's not nice to try to fool Mother Nature!

You are number 6.

Hey all, I've started using an autoblock to rappel, (prusik cord around the rope to a leg loop with locking biner)especially if I am cleaning gear on the way down. My question is, is this safe? I'm thinking about how hot an atc gets rapping, and how they say not to run a weighted rope through a sling. Am I weakening the cord this way? So far they look and feel OK...

Seen in Olympia: "Stop using Jesus as an excuse to be an asshole." "When is evolution going to make the Christian Right extinct?"

Thanks for a great season, Off!

I take that back. Tieton was fun.

I know, me too. Next time I'll go to Leavenworth and screw Tieton.

I don't know, if I look down and my last piece is sliding down the rope, does that count as running it out? Of course, if you climb at x38 as often as i do, everything starts to seem runout...

Hey All, Three of us are driving from Olympia to the Tieton early Saturday morning, coming back Sunday night, and looking for a fourth person so we can maximize climbing time. Either travel with or meet there. I'm hoping to climb a couple of 5.8ish gear leads at the Bend or RC,and then I'm up for whatever. I can usually lead 10b or c bolts, but I'll follow anything, and we're bringing our crash pads to try out the caldera. We'll camp Saturday night. I've got a rope, rack, car, etc. Anybody interested?? Weather looks good... Doug

OMG, those are some pretty impressive falls. I really am a big baby! Better start trying to toughen up a little.

See you there!

I like to play this game too- I wish I had seen the Clash pretty much anywhere. Nirvana used to play across the street from where I worked in Olympia- never went, didn't know who they were. It kills my kids that I saw the ramones in San Francisco at a free outdoor concert- lunchtime in a park. I saw a lot of groups in those days- Kinks, Blondie, etc., but for some reason I don't remember the shows very well. Went to CBGBs last year to see something there before they closed. Don't forget to see the current great shows, like Gogol Bordello at Neumos a couple of months ago, or the Briefs in Olympia- someday they might be famous shows!

Sorry I didn't grab them for you, but i thought if it was somebody not on cc.com, that wouldn't be very helpful. Hope your girlfriend is OK.

If you are missing your purple mythos, and you were at x38 Mt. WA area between Fri and Mon, they were still there on the ledge yesterday, you'd better hurry.

Ow! I'll bet that hurt later when you took a shower.

As somebody who also is a moderate sport and new trad leader, I really like Tieton. Spend one day at Royal Columns doing easy (5.4 to 5.9)trad then Lava point and clip 5.10 bolts to relax. I visited Fossil a few weeks ago- it's an "interesting" place, worth a day, but it took as long to drive there and walk in (gate was locked) as it would to get to Tieton or the Exits (32 and 38,)and I was coming from Olympia.

I am sacrificing to the weather gods, even as we speak...
