    cam hooks...

I am not quite to the nailing stage yet. Eventually, I am sure, but for now, I am focusing on the Clean Aid. (I assumed tomahawks are for nailing, but I may be mistaken... Is it a super thin hook?)
  5. now that ad engines see the word "underwear" in the thread, that is the only ads that will show up!

    Poll for the guys...

SWEET! you can get elf ears for your doll!!! I am so getting one. Do you think my wife would still consider that cheating?
  7. Seen it on the top bar? the lightweight, almost see-thru mesh and oversized man-bulge almost makes this site NSFW now!

    cam hooks...

and are you recommending the extra narrow or just the narrow? ah, and another question, with leeper gone, Moses is taking up the reigns it looks like. Are those an ok brand?

    cam hooks...

no sizes in between? is there just enough overlap between the two to negate the others? isnt the wide negated by the use of cams?

    cam hooks...

I buggered up a finger pulley a bit ago and am out for the season. I figured this was as good a time as any to sort out this aid climbing nonsense. After a few leads at Broughtons and Skinners Butt, I am thinking I need to get some new toys. I just got some hooks, and was intrigued by cam hooks. I'd like to hear some thoughts on their merit and usefulness. What sizes have you found most useful? Should I even bother?

    Kombucha

a number of friends are into this, but I think it tastes like shit! You can get the same goodness from eating a regular healthy diet, and that tastes better. If you want me to eat a crappy tasting fungus, it better stain blue!
  12. Do you really think that rich man is EARNING all that richness? methinks not typically. I would say up to maybe the 500k income level, that person is probably working hard for that $, but beyond that, the job gets easier and the income grows(think executives making one or two big decisions a year and then golfing the rest of the time). So yes, it is ok to confiscate 65% of a rich man's income, especially when it still leaves him MILLIONS every year. GREAT CHARTS ABOVE JB!

    BLT climbing club?

cant we just skip the L and T and eat a few strips of bacon at the top of each climb...?
  14. good to know on the bolt cutters. maybe they could just remove the crapper when sasquatch and Dave come to the gorge
  15. go bug Ivan. he loves everyone!
  16. I completely agree with both of you. A 40$ set up vs. a 150$ set up is a no-brainer.
  17. Depending on your vehicle situation, get a long bed light pickup truck, build a bed w/ drawers under it for storage. This will save you $$$ and will be infinitely more comfortable than trying to make a subaru/car work as an RV. Better yet, get a small RV (Chinook style). The old ones can be gotten for cheap.
  18. Information on peak loads while slacklining ...If you ever highlined and wondered how close you were to breaking the thing. The testing doesn't explore dynamic falls, but you can get an idea from the results. There is also a good discussion of the results on the page.
  19. BD? who makes 'em?
  20. I've got a pair of the aforementioned boots and they fit wonderfully, except with crampons. The Grivel G12 crampons I've got dig into the heel and are quite uncomfortable after a half day of use. Anyone else have this problem and perhaps a fix? I wear superfeet insoles with the boots fyi. Would a cobbler be able to make the heel more rigid?

    Finishing My Rack

start doubling the BDs from .5-2 Then triple them. I have only found a single set of nutz to be useful outside of aid climbing.

    climb mt. Adams

    oops
  23. Sorry to piggyback scott, but I've got some 44 mythos for sale too. Call it 45$ too.
  24. A follow up; I just used my new EV3 on Shasta in a pretty good overnight wind storm and the thing is great. I didn't have any condensation problems with 2 people + all gear in there for the 2 nights we were on the mountain. It held up with no flapping in 35+ mph winds (platform was dug in a bit however). FYI the low temps were around 15 deg F. I would guess. At this point I have no complaints. We'll see on warmer weather spring trips though...
