  1. Oh Oh Johny, get ready for the black choppers and men in yellow suits to come get you. That there is treason. They can lock you up for years you know without a hearing, even if you ARE a U.S. citizen, as long as they just call you an enemy combatant. You ARE FUCKED BRO.
  2. Damn Matt, I said exactly the same thing you just did - albeit in different words - but somehow your point is more valid?
  3. Well, Chuck, I think the avy danger chart up there assumes a backcountry traveler to have atleast rudimentary knowledge of avalanches and avalanche terrain and to perhaps (oh my god) use some of their own judgment in determining such things, incorporating such factors as how much one is personally willing to risk, recent weather, line of ascent, ski ability, etc. For some slopes, I don't think ANWAC is going be able to tell you specifically whether to ski it or not. You need to use their data and information and decide for yourself.
  4. It means don't be a fucking retard and go on slopes that are super fucking dangerous, like wind-loaded rollovers. It means use common sense.
  5. I think its fairly evident from the context, Chuck.
  6. That sounds complicated. Do you have pictures or diagrams?
  7. Holy Christ. Did you rap the runnels with skis on or skis off? Nice timing catching the weather window!!
  8. Regardles, I don't think bro has to worry about being to "hot" in a single wall in the Rockies.
  9. Stop thinking about my ass, Dru.
  10. That's what I do mountain / ice climbing, more or less. I just don't like having a whole lot of weight and gear on my hips. Makes my harness fall off.
  11. Have you? The icefields parkway is at 7,000 feet. The average summer teperature is about 21 celcius, or 70 degrees farenheit - and the surrounding peaks are obviously a lot cooler. That's not very hot.
  12. If its steep enough to ski its steep enough to slide. Shit, after being caught in 2 slides this winter, I'm a big wuss about avy's these days.
  13. Try the "Jump" music vid where he's swinging all over the place tied into the end of a rope on El Cap. Hence the term, "David Lee Roth" for a pendelum.
  14. Whatever Shoulder slings look way cooler.
  15. Its just preference. Wallstein is height-challenged, so a shoulder sling probably hangs below his feet and trips him up. On the other hand, he probably climbs harder than anyone in the world so you can't argue with his suggestion. I personally prefer a shoulder sling on one side, then I rack draws and slings on the other side on my harness. Gear sling can can get in the way, but you'll get used to it.
  16. I'll take extra detergent and no starch on my pants please. Oh, and hang dry. Thanks.
  17. Hey Nancy, go fetch me a beer. And some snacks too.
