  1. I'll buy lunch, dinner, or breakfast on the last day; whenever we finish. Saturday's weather forecast looks great!
  2. There may be some wet rock, but I am betting that negotiating snow will not be necessary. Forecasted daytime highs and nighttime lows looks pretty promising this week.
  3. Looking for someone (or 2) to do WR with. Hike in Friday afternoon/evening and camp. Hike out Sat night or Sun Morning. I did the Cascadian earlier this season. It would be my first time on WR. I have a vehicle and can drive. PM if interested. Thanks. -Ken
  4. I was climbing 2 days after we returned, no stitches. Not really that big of a deal. I hope you all enjoyed the story though...
  5. I would like to get on Thompson WR this weekend if anyone is interested.
  6. I am looking to do Stuart - West Ridge as soon as the leg is healed up, if anyone is interested. Thanks again for retrieving my bag and bivy! Dave: My New Hero...
  7. For poison oak, I use alcohol and lots of cotton balls. When it no longer feels good (starts to hurts) to rub it, you are done. It works every time for me.
  8. "the fear is the danger." NICE! You know you do the same thing.
  9. Hey Tim! Family maintenance is important and since you have gotten out a lot this year, I understand. Dave is my partner BTW. And, yes we will be brining beers and such...
  10. I have a permit for 4 people starting Friday Aug 21 ending Monday Aug 24. I have a partner (knocks on wood) and am looking for a second team of 2 (or 3) climbers. I am thinking we will hike in Friday and maybe do Sunchips. Then Dragontail - Serpentine Arete on Saturday. Maybe Dragontail - NE Buttess on Sunday (something). And, an easy hike out Monday. If you have any ideas let me know, but I only lead up to 5.8 right now and follow maybe 10-. I am really just looking for a fun time in the mountains. I hiked the loop earlier this year and look forward to getting back there again. I have a vehicle and live in West Seattle and can drive up to 4 people (including myself). I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the permit ($20 per person). Send a PM if interested. Thanks. -Ken
  11. Nice job Tim! I wish I could have tagged along for that one.
  12. Thanks for the update Joseph! Maybe just make Kevin's Thread a Sticky or a FAQ???
  13. I have asked you to climb Hood since our last ascent. I no longer live in Walla Walla, but whatever... I have met some pretty cool people off this site and I look forward to meeting more. I just returned from a 3 day trip to the Gunks with someone I met here.
  14. Looking south from Early Winters Spire
  15. Partner found.
  16. I am planning on attending the festivities this weekend, but don't want to do any skiing. So, I am looking for someone to climb with. I can take Friday off work as well. I currently lead around 5.7/5.8 and can follow a bit harder. I am just looking to have some fun. I am willing to climb with almost anyone. The weather forecast looks great. I can meet you there, pick you up and drive (standard S-10 pick-up), or ride in your vehicle as a passenger and pitch in for gas. I live in West Seattle. -Ken
  17. Clean the draws, leave the bolts.
  18. Why does that guy in the picture look so scared? (its me) mattp and Crillz are two super cool guys! Thanks for the climbing. I would like to do it again.
  19. PM sent
  20. I don't know if you were just looking for a one time partner, but... I have an annual pass at SG and am looking to climb Mondays and Wednesdays anytime after 6 pm. Looking to boulder (up to V2) and TR (up to 5.10). Not sure how hard I can climb right now as I am coming off a knee injury. Went to SG yesterday (Bouldered up to V1) and although the knee felt weak, the stress felt okay. I am looking to start out slow. -Ken

  22. That shit is Ebola!
  23. I'm thinking someone read their trip report and decided to go get some free gear. It wasn't me and I don't know who it was, I am just guessing.
  24. I really appreciate you efforts Joseph, and I know others who do too. I just thought if the park service really wanted to express their understanding (not that they have to) of how much an asset Beacon really is to climbers , they would have waited to close the south side until Monday to maximize the potential for its use. I am sure the birds wouldn't notice a day or two difference. Thanks everyone for the motivation. My knee appreciates it. But I am sorry to say its true, I can't hang with Dave on skis. Next season I am starting (and possibly staying) in-bounds.
