  1. I have asked you to climb Hood since our last ascent. I no longer live in Walla Walla, but whatever... I have met some pretty cool people off this site and I look forward to meeting more. I just returned from a 3 day trip to the Gunks with someone I met here.
  2. Looking south from Early Winters Spire
  3. Partner found.
  4. I am planning on attending the festivities this weekend, but don't want to do any skiing. So, I am looking for someone to climb with. I can take Friday off work as well. I currently lead around 5.7/5.8 and can follow a bit harder. I am just looking to have some fun. I am willing to climb with almost anyone. The weather forecast looks great. I can meet you there, pick you up and drive (standard S-10 pick-up), or ride in your vehicle as a passenger and pitch in for gas. I live in West Seattle. -Ken
  5. Clean the draws, leave the bolts.
  6. Why does that guy in the picture look so scared? (its me) mattp and Crillz are two super cool guys! Thanks for the climbing. I would like to do it again.
  7. PM sent
  8. I don't know if you were just looking for a one time partner, but... I have an annual pass at SG and am looking to climb Mondays and Wednesdays anytime after 6 pm. Looking to boulder (up to V2) and TR (up to 5.10). Not sure how hard I can climb right now as I am coming off a knee injury. Went to SG yesterday (Bouldered up to V1) and although the knee felt weak, the stress felt okay. I am looking to start out slow. -Ken

  10. That shit is Ebola!
  11. I'm thinking someone read their trip report and decided to go get some free gear. It wasn't me and I don't know who it was, I am just guessing.
  12. Ditto.
  13. PM sent on the Feathered Friends Front Point Jacket.
  14. I really appreciate you efforts Joseph, and I know others who do too. I just thought if the park service really wanted to express their understanding (not that they have to) of how much an asset Beacon really is to climbers , they would have waited to close the south side until Monday to maximize the potential for its use. I am sure the birds wouldn't notice a day or two difference. Thanks everyone for the motivation. My knee appreciates it. But I am sorry to say its true, I can't hang with Dave on skis. Next season I am starting (and possibly staying) in-bounds.
  15. I thought I could hang skiing with Dave and his friend Mike. Which obviously I couldn't. Lesson learned! I will be in full force by spring so come on up then if you want! I have a place where you can crash if needed...
  16. I waffled back and forth about coming down due to the weather forecasts, then Sat morning I decided it was a go. Dave and I met Jim and Larry on route; the first and only other party to climb it that day. First time climbing for me in 3 months, since my knee surgery that resulted from a previous excursion with Dave. Seems to me the park service could at least wait until Monday; closure starting Feb 1st or the first weekday after kinda thing. I mean they had the closed sign up by 5:30 pm on Sat!!! And, it looked like Ben was coming to put the sign up around noon, when we were just getting started. Oh well, I had blast!!!
  17. Use the sequence as a limit on the distance between bolts (not the overall elevation), and you cover both G-spotter's and Billcoe's points well. It already does. The limit as N -> infinity, where N is the number's position in the sequence; G.R. = (N+1)/N or N/(N+1) (depending on which ratio you are interested in). Any sequence of the form (N+1) = N + (N-1) does...

  19. Mount Thompson, West Ridge this weekend.
  20. PM sent.
  21. I have moved to Seattle and am looking for partners. I am going to get a membership at Stone Gardens (I have been to both gyms and prefer SG), if you want to meet up, but I am really looking to get outside. My conditioning is improving each week with riding my bike to work (10 miles round trip) and going to the rock gym. Right now I am happy to do some scrambles or technical climbs up to 5.8. I have all my personal gear needed. I did an ice climb with Bala last year and it was a blast! He lead all pitches. I am looking to do some more snow/ice this season. I have skiis as well. If you need a partner, I am free starting next weekend. Drop me a PM if interested. I just got internet hooked up at home and will be sending PMs to those already posting for partners. Thanks for looking. -Ken Previous thread: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=57339&Number=765609#Post765609
