Marx didn't so much have a good idea (as if his thoughts might be reduced to one idea); he had many ideas, and even more, he had many observations, ones that were cogent, perspicuous, insightful, and quite telling.
again, try not to simply view marxism as a prescription to a malady, but rather an observation of events, for admittedly, it falls terribly short as a guide to behaviour.
