2nd weekend of July through 1st or 2nd weekend of Aug. Get out on some winter hikes and scrambles and figure out what clothing systems work for you. Ditto for getting dialied in to what you need for food/water. Try an overnighter or two in the winter to test out your sleeping bag/tent. Try and hit some steeper and more varied terrain as well.
