i'd like to do some aid climbing to get more practice placing gear. i'm looking for some good easy cracks at mt erie that i could set up a solo top rope and then aid away. choss factor isn't a big deal as long as the crack will take pro good. anyone got any suggestions?

Erie looks pretty good today from the window of my cubicle. hopefully its not raining here thursday or friday, it kills me when its so beautiful while i'm working, and when i'm off it rains.

dru is right, aldergrove/lynden border is the way to go. you'll get the least questioned/hassled by the border folk than the other crossings. plus you can stop at edaleen dairy just south of the border on the guide for really good ice cream!

anyone been up the road to the hannegan pass trailhead lately? how far will i be able to drive my subaru? thanks.

i just got the GSP function working on my phone. it's a motorola i530, and my service is from nextel. it gets its data directly from satallites unlike some other phones which i guess to some sort of triagulation from cel towers. it gives me the latitude and longitude and seems to be decently accurate, it can take a few minutes to get a position.

sound's like rope up was a good time, i made just past mt vernon and then my car overheated and wouldn't start again , so maybe next year.

i'm looking for a basic rope for cragging. i figure i should get something thick so it will be durable. i also don't want to spend too much money. REI outlet has some Bluewater 50m on sale for $83 here. any opinions on those ropes? is there a better deal on a rope somewhere else? thanks.

I think I'd like to head up to Mt Erie on Friday afternoon, probably go to the Sunset Slabs for some easy climbing. Anyone want to come?
