  1. I've got a question. Why do people (male/female, fat/thin) insist on wearing sandals and socks when it's raining? I mean it's lame enough when it's sunny, but it's raining and your cotton socks are getting wet!
  2. Is the guy 2nd from left wearing a tie... or a scarf?
  3. I can understand the point of people who don't like summit registers, but aren't there like 10,000 things with more impact on your 'wilderness experience"? Ex. fire rings, micro-trash in bivy sites, trails themselves, human p00p, T paper, other climbers, rap slings, bolts, fixed pins..... I just fail to see any reason to get your panties in a bunch about a can on top of a summit when there are plenty of other worthy targets for cleanup.

Snapfish makes everyone who wants to view your album register with them. It's not hard to gie them a fake registration, but it's still a pain in the ass.

    Been Busy

    Stay out of Telluride deadbeat!
  7. Post it. Don't spray about it.
  8. Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with any Physical Therapists or Acupuncturist(sp?) in Bellingham? Cheers
  9. Compare: Powder turns and Water Ice. to Bugs and open cravasses.
  10. Summer... that annoying time between powder dumps.
  11. Hmmm, it looks like my situation is pretty mild compared to the stories in that thread. I don't have any dead nerve spots and I have not been diagnosed with a herniated disk (I haven't had an MRI though). My complaint is pain under my pelvis when bending over or opening my hips and tightness in my hamstring. I've been starting a regular stretching routine and that has already helped a lot. I like the suggestions about acupuncture and yoga. I might give those a shot too. Thanks.
  12. Has anyone here dealt with sciatic pain? I injured my back this winter and haven't felt right since then. My latest is pain where my glutes attach to my pelvis on my left side. It comes and goes, but it's starting to really affect my ability to climb. Basically my question is if any one has had successfull therapy for sciatica, what was your therapy? Cheers
  13. I love this boot. I've been using a pair since January and they've been great for ice climbing and mountaineering. They are sufficiently thin enough so that you are not relegated to using only your from points when WI climbing, yet are super sturdy when from pointing. Also, they edge like a dream on rock. I have to say that I usually don't get cold feet, so that hasn't been a problem for me. If you tend to get cold feet I would probably go with the Nepal Extreme or similar. The Trango Extremes have really stiff shanks which makes them really tough on your feet for long hiking approaches. Also I have had a problem with the tongues rotating to the outside of the boot. I've also heard that other people have this problem, but I haven't heard of any way to prevent this. Good luck with whatever boot you go with.
  14. OK, OK, but what about the freaky base player dude dressed up like princess Leia(sp?). F-R-E-A-K!
  15. D00d why the gaiters? I don't see any snowfield in the pics?
  16. Hmmmm. Maybe the Sierras do own after all...
  17. What is a collection of boulderers? A Bro-Brah? Ice climbers? A psycho-ward? Sport climbers? A Hang-Dog?
  18. PM Ashw_justin I think he might need a roommate.
  19. Hey SB, I was wondering what happened to you guys when I didn't see your headlamps coming out of Muir until like 3. My buddy and I summitted, but I felt like crap and he kept wanting to turn around. I guess 2 weeks of partying and working isn't a good way to prepare for a single-push on the DC.
  20. I've skied and slowboarded in Cali and in the PNW and I've found really, really good conditions in both places. Pete is right, though. You aren't going to get multi-thousand foot runs in the Sierras in late season. I have no idea about Alaska.
  21. From the article: Just before that, Sullivan witnessed the death of an elderly woman as she was struck by a freight train at Market Street. "I watched a lady on Market, I was sitting on my bike when she ran for the train. And if she wouldn't have stopped to see if she had time, she would have got across." WTF? Why would you do that?
