Hey KK - What's the beta for getting a good parking spot at the Square? And is it near a Starbucks? - Linen & Things or Bed, Bath and Beyond for pillow cases? What about scented candles? TIA!

20 bucks says KK owns an Outdoor Research Seattle Sombrero though he refers to it as his "Bellevue" Sombrero sickie sickie Hell... I'll go double or nothing it matches his OR gaiters :laf: Hey KK: does your wife have to remind you to take off your "Bellevue" Sombrero when you go to TGIFridays for dinner

Having to look across the lake at the shit hole known as Seattle. Seattle's a great place to visit, or even work. But unless you're a sewer rat, it just doesn't rate as a place to live. That shit is solid gold! I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard... thanks KK! Hey KK: when you travel outside of Washington do you say you are from Bellevue or Seattle? And if you say Bellevue how many people say "where is that"?

Goodness, they make you wear camo too? It's even more whacked then I thought! Well... I have yet to chip a tooth during a workout so it can't be that whacked

To explain the t shirt thing one is loosely expected to wear the recruit t-shirt until one passes both boot camp and earns the basic cert. Just about anyone who passes the boot camp can/should be able to earn the basic cert. At the point you pass the basic cert you can wear anything you want. If you are asking how would a t shirt help the "supportive environment" it isn't intended for that... the supportive environment comes from the members of the gym. My interpretation (then again I could be wrong... it isn't my gym) of the t shirt thing is it is more a subtle motivation for individuals to complete their basic cert as people grow tired of camo quickly. Yes you do earn a shirt as you pass each cert (more on that below) but I don't wear mine religiously since earning my basic cert. Kevin took the ideas from Crossfit North in Seattle (www.crossfitnorth.com/articles/Athletic_Skill_Standards.pdf) and I know other facilities do something similar... basically this concept isn't something new. The idea is more a way encourage people to set goals as well as a way to chart progress as one completes WODs... not to create a hierarchy. I can assure you the gym is a very supportive environment. On the crossfithel site under the programs and membership tab you can view the requirements for the four levels. 1 minute handstand hold Once I get that I can do the workout challenge which one has to wait till the end to do.

OffWhite's route is waiting for a second ascent: Other stuff The bolted variation that avoids the first 3 pitches of lib crack looks cool... 10+/11- I believe? Couple new routes on the wine spires also.
-
I laughed at the idea when I found out I had to wear a shirt that said "recruit" across the back for a month... after completing the boot camp and earning my basic cert (almost to my advanced ) the concept makes complete sense to me. Then again I could have just been brain washed You're a crossfitter Ade... they don't have cert levels at your gym?

I have lived in PDX since 2004. Yes I must drive a few extra hours each way than my WA compatriots do but I still manage to get a little climbing done each winter If a few extra hours of driving is a deal breaker for you wait till you get properly acquainted with a "cascades style" approach to "local ice climbing" and "moderate to hard ice routes" Let us know where you end up and make sure to come to a few pub clubs and introduce yourself

Does Patagonia make super secret capilene mormon underwear? I could see the wicking ability be highly desirable when walking for miles on one's mission...

I like vodka straight with dinner, with good company. It must be premium stuff, and chilled ice cold. Gin is for martinis, and gin and tonics... Recently I've been sipping Caiparinha's after work. My Brazilian co-worker kept talking up cachaca, I tried it, and like it... Maybe I read it wrong but do you have a drink every day? Are you concerned about potential health implications?

They have it listed as a 6 on the athletes page...? Then again if you climb it on fusions it probably feels like 6+ I just want it to watch the cryo footage over and over and over until I have all the sequences memorized :laf:
