Uh... because she married a Republican?
-
Actually, there might be fewer Republicans in that desperate company every day: "The most interesting poll today is in NY-26, where incumbent Tom Reynolds ® was expected to win an easy victory over challenger Jack Davis (D). Oops. Reynolds is involved in the Mark Foley sex scandal and a SurveyUSA poll now shows Davis leading 50% to 45%. In related news, it is now clear that Speaker Dennis Hastert knew all about the dirty emails for over 3 years and did nothing except try to hide them. Hastert has a bit of a problem now. People don't always understand national intelligence estimates or the fact that Saddam Hussein was a secular dictator who thought that Osama bin Laden was a maniac and a religious nutcase, but they do understand that preying on teenage boys is morally wrong and that hiding the perpetrator is a sin. Some pollsters are now saying that if Hastert doesn't get this problem fixed FAST, the GOP may be looking at at a loss of 50 seats in the House instead of 20." -- Electoral Vote.com, 2006 Oct 6. the vote

Now wait a minute, who ever accused you of being a climber? That's just not right!

like the "list" has not been discussed before. you lefties hate everything Bush has done or said to the point of hysteria. anything that is listed, you will attack and deny is a success. for your edification I will list this: since 9/11 there has not been a single successful terrorist attack on the US. I know what you liberals will say in response to this, and, as you post your inane comments, I will chuckle aloud with satisfaction at knowing your predictability so well. So, can you actually name one good thing he has done? Please answer if you can. Bear in mind the question is now asked here by self-described conservatves and Republicans as well as liberals. Also please bear in mind that Bush had our unanimous support after 9-11, until he went forward with the administration's Neocon agenda instead of a democratic American agenda. Since then, to be clear, thousands of Americans have been hit, maimed, and killed in terrorist attacks. Since then, the world has turned against us. Since then, our nation has become divided. And now in Iraq, our brave troops are doing a 21st-century rendition of Custer's last stand as we sit here and spray. This is shameful. Come on, the gig is up.

Your definition of "cynic" is wrong. (To be a cynic you must believe in something.) Your definition of "economics" is wrong. (I will not condescend, you can look it up yourself.) Your application of statistics is incompetent, as you effectively concluded with your analysis that there was no chance of nuclear holocaust during the cold war -- sorry, but you wrote it! And your comprehension of the principles of risk assessment is just plain willfully ignorant. Always a good laugh to read the contributions of yet another self-absorbed nihilist! Carry on.

Polls indicate most voters will continue to welcome the RNC's dick up their asses no differently than before. Curiously, most Republican voters prefer the logo, as well as the sodomy, without the condom.

Your reasoning is patently fallacious. First, to suggest that nothing but perfection is worth attaining is to damn your every pursuit as it ever will be. Second, nobody deserves torture, anymore than you deserve a broken nose for advocating torture. Your suggestion that torture provides good information is false, as stated by all the top-level CIA operatives who now speak out on the subject -- torture produces bad information that does nothing to protect the torturers and ultimately leads to yet more torture as well as murder of innocents. Finally, in regard to your assertion that "obviously nobody wants to hurt innocent people," I submit to you there is abundant evidence to the contrary in the dispostion and actions of the Bush administration.

Sounds a lot like when GWB said, "Brownie, yer doin' a heck of a job!" ...Oh wait, RB already pointed that out. (Carry on!)

The old one-two snafu: Either he knew or he should have known, and either case qualifies him as a total scumbag. I recall a partner of Arthur Andersen LLP for whom those were essentially the first last words spoken when the news initially broke about the company's complicity as the auditor of Enron's books. The partner knew right then it was time for him to start packing -- his company was as good as done on the spot and his partnership and net worth effectively vaporized on that one day. But Congressional ethics rules are different from standard professional practices enforceable by law. No way anybody is going to step down, that's obvious after they went to all the trouble of covering for the sexual advances made to minors by a "predator" and "pedophile" in their ranks -- just to hang on to one miserable seat in the House. The big show now will be the response of voters. Fwiw, the RNC is already hitting the phones hard in the affected districts. Word spoken is that it's all Clinton's fault -- he's a notorious pervert, you know, "and he's still there!" Cheers

The United States Senate Banking Committee report of 1994 May 25 and The United States Department of Commerce report of 1991 March 11 explicitly confirm that Iraq attained its supply of WMDs in the form of disease-producing and poisonous agents from the United States in 1985 and succeeding years and that over $1.5 billion in potential ("dual-use") support material and technology was licensed for export and provided to Iraq from the United States prior to 1991. The 1991 Commerce Department listings of exported items are detailed and exhaustive, as are the Senate Banking Committee accounts of WMDs supplied to Saddam Hussein during the Iran/Iraq war.

"The Bush Administration did not try to get Osama bin Laden before 9/11. The Bush Administration ignored all the evidence gathered by its predecessors... The Bush Administration did not try."

Amerikans must take the war against ice to Canada so we don't have to fight it in our homes! Consequently, the ice breaker contracts must be issued immediately, before the ice melts.

Yeah, I'm all for it. Capital Bang.

They can nickle and dime on their knees, the way they did when hired.

CBS, the article for which I saw the headline during my ride-by this morning was a story about new laws. Maybe they got it straight this time, made the laws stronger, and authorized the summary arrest, imprisonment, and torture of Congress. For the executive, a firing squad would naturally be appropriate.
-
Seems I've sprayed about this crap, off and on, for days now. But today when riding down University Way, I paused and looked at a newspaper box. I saw the headlines. What I saw stunned me like no other headline ever has, not even the one of 11/22. Something about seeing it there, above the fold and on the street corner, made it seem like it didn't seem quite real until now. What the fuck is going on!

Maybe because it took place on 12OCT00 during the previous administration. So was the inaction a statute-of-limitations type thing or a it's-not-my-job type of thing? Clinton required certification from the CIA and FBI that Al Qaeda was behind the attack on the Cole before he could get basing in Uzbekistan as needed to execute the battle plans he had drawn up for full military assault into Afghanistan to destroy the Taliban and kill bin Laden. The certification wasn't provided until Bush took office in Janurary 2001. The Bush administration was given the completed battle plans and the certification, but did nothing for the following eight months before Al Qaeda attacked America on 9-11. That's the rub.

Way to go, I'm going to burninate by voting a straight Republican ticket this November!

Voting is an action.

winner of the exaggeration of the day award. you can't truly believe that you or anyone you know is in danger. try a simple experiment - point the finger at chaps and whisper... see what happens. for a group of people that want to trust the government with so many other major aspects of their lives (healthcare, land use, car choice etc) - why aren't you afraid of someone pointing at you and saying "no car" or "no doctor" and you having to walk and be sick for the rest of your life. if you trust them to stay legit with that stuff, why do you not trust them here? i say - never trust em. granted, the thought of wrongful imprisonment is scary and the thing movies are made of... let's not get carried away. The powers and protections provided by the new law do not extend to everybody. Accordingly, to be sure, if I stood as the accuser then no amount of finger-pointing would get anybody sent to a prison. Under the new law, an "accuser" is not just anybody who points a finger. An accuser is, to be clear, any person or corporate entity designated by the president to have the authority to officially identify people with "enemy" status. Once thusly identified, by unilateral executive decree, the accused are then lawfully subject to summary arrest, idefinite imprisonment, and torture. Wrongful imprisonment is indeed scary; it also has been an ongoing practice under the rule of the Neocons for five years now. Call a secret accusation a whisper or not, let's not keep our heads stuffed up our underworlds while the Neocons continue to steal our democracy, OK? Cheers.
