  1. More importantly, why would anyone with a whopping three posts refer to cc.com posters as "friends". Is this fucker selling something?
  2. Funny, I was going topost something along these lines, but I was too lazy. There has been no major litigation or neighborhood protest against the line from South Seattle to the airport.
  3. Mike Gauthier's blog has identified the climber as a female. She has some connection there.
  4. I'm not a big fan of soloists. I had a couple of noobss on Spiderman a few weeks back. Random solo dude was right on our asses. Unfortunately for him, I didn't know he was there until after I hucked a rappel line down. He was pretty pissed off when he reached the top. I apologized and explained that there were probably better places for him to solo than an easy route that would be crawling with Noobs on a weekend.
  5. Ever think that people with this attitude is why our public transportation sucks? King County is full of NIMBY's and people who bitch that "it's too little too late" or "doesn't help me..." Embrace what we are getting and have the forethought to understand that it is easier to expand existing infrastructure than it is to establish new.
  6. Light rail to the aiport is an obvious start for a metropolitan area. I'm sorry it doesn't cater to your commute. I fail to see how transit from the airport to seattle caters to politicians. I really doubt they will be on public transit. It does, however, cater to tourism. It isn't always about you folks. Sometimes you gotta stop whining about what you didn't get and wait your turn.
  7. Light rail is quietly plugging away. Have you seen the elevated structures near the airport?
  8. I drive a lot. To work, to play, etc... As it is, I'm trying to work up the sack to ride my bike the 25 miles (one way) to work. I've done it before, I'm just being a sissy. I like my coffee and NPR on the way in. I for one, would love to see $10/gallon gas. It is the only way that we will reform the transportation systems for most of the US. It's the only way we will change our entrenched car culture. MY only regret is that assholes like Exxon and BP will get unbelievably rich while we are at it.
  9. Do they really travel from BC to get to Vantage? It's a fun "local" place to climb, but I wouldn't make much effort to get there.
  10. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
  11. Ha ha!
  12. If it offends thee...
  13. You are more likely to get laid if you aren't an asshole, can carry on a decent conversation, and you take care of yourself. hmm...so you're saying no kinda climbers got much chance of getting a slice of the shush? Ab-so-f*cking-loot-lee
  14. Because it is there

  16. POE-TAY-TOE POE-TAH-TOE Imagine what could be achieved if we harnessed all of this brain power for good.
  17. It all begins and ends where you want it to. But who really cares about the taxonomy of a climb? Where does hiking end and mountaineering begin? Why do I keep asking pointless questions?

They were in cages, on a catwalk, generally doing what they could to avoid the huge robots and pyrotechnics.

I saw Rob Zombie at the Tacoma Dome a few years back. I liked the theatrics. The huge robot and big-bottom go go dancers were rad. FYI - GWAR sucks. That's right. GWAR sucks.
  20. I weigh more than any other climber I know, and I've had no difficulty jugging a pitch. Keep it simple. If you will be jugging a few overhanging pitches, figure out the frog. Rock and Ice has a really good article in their tech pages on this system. If you are only jugging, you could make some non-adjustable foot stirrups like MattP suggests. Use a rubber band to keep them on your feet. Girth hitches and other slipknots will hurt your feet after a short while. I've cleaned with a Gri Gri on my harness. It was wierd for me, but I'm used to the two jumar system. I've heard that it's great for cleaning traverses, but I've never tried it there. Underworld - Aren't you a fan of the one Gri Gri, one jumar method?
  21. If we wanted reasonable logic, we would post at CascadeHikers.com.
  22. Dude, your xenophobia is showing. Let's leave it at "Crazies" pretty much everyone here started as an immigrant. Not to mention the loonie from VT had been in this country for 14 years (or so).
