  1. I can't believe people still talk like this. The American Cancer Society estimates that 178,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2007. Invasive is the bad kind--the kind that very often requires surgery and reconstruction. That is a lot of women walking around with the boobs people are so quick to assume are there for ego only. Very often, those boobs are there b/c in our breast obsessed society, being suddenly flat-chested is just one too many things to stress about after fighting for your life. So ease the fuck up. I don't care if they're real or fake, big or small. As long as I can suck on them  Pure, F*cking Class. You are allright.
  2. Angel at Castle Rock is the most polished climb I've ever been on. The foot hold down low looks like it's been through a rock tumbler. The crack is super slick, but perfect finger locks. Climbs do get harder as the rock is polished. Friction is a huge part of climbing. People complain that the grades at J-Tree are very stiff. Once I got used to trusting foot smears on steep faces, it wasn't terrible. The same moves at Leavenworth or Index would have spit me off.
  3. I would love to be there to stir hate and dissent, but I have an Ultimate Frisbee game. PBR at halftime!
  4. Paul Potts is my hero.
  5. Amateur. Bellevue - where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and even the Starbucks is near a Starbucks. Awesome.
  6. A weekend spent drinking plays #2 to a weekend spent climbing.
  7. Don't play it like that. I PM'd YOU about doing it this past weekend. Your response was a public message that came across as dickish, and that you wanted to get it all taken care of as quickly as possible. I appreciated the opportunity to climb with some new folks for a day or two. After reading your message, I found something else to do. Your attitude would make it an unpleasant outing. No, I don't want to climb with you in the future for any reason. I'm sure you get a lot of criticism as a route developer from folks like me who have no desire to do the hard work themselves. It's part of the package. Don't take it too personal. Some people don't like the stories I write, the music I play, or the drawings I've produced. It's all the same game. If this is such an issue for you, why don't you investigate for yourself instead of relying on second hand information? You are more than welcome to feel self-righteous because Fred thought the bolts were necessary, but until you see the climb, you are ignorant of the real situation. Please return to your regularly scheduled program of manic self-righteousness and superiority, continue to think that everyone who disagrees with you is an ignorant f*ck who just doesn't understand. I leave the last word to you, Mr. Cramer.
  8. This worries me. I've climbed with Arch, and she said things like "Climb dammit", ordered lunch for me... oh god, am I being groomed? I don't want to be the gimp!
  9. Visconte's is very good. We went there last weekend. I'm also a fan of Duck & Drake across the street from Gustav's
  10. hike bbq aid climbing in the rain ate half a hamburger the size of my head nap What about you?
  11. I dont' think the intent is to reduce impact on the living things, but the rock itself. I really don't give two shits. I pointed out a climb that had bolts by a crack and DCramer called me out. Will a clean crack improve the route? No. Who wants to climb wide hands on a slab like that? Maybe we can clear out small areas so that gear can be plugged in while leaving most of the verge in tact.
  12. Pulled your name out
  13. We have new auto flushing toilets at work. They are really smart. They even know when to drop the courtesy flush, or as I like to call it, "the ballwasher"
  14. It's not a scruffy gulley. It's a wide handcrack filled with dirt and grass. Why don't you go up there this weekend and look at it. There is plenty of other fun stuff to climb while you are looking around. On a personal note - You really sound like a dick in this message. Two people are willing to take up your somewhat ridiculous challenge defending at least one climb you know nothing about. Try to be a little more cordial when the cooperation you didn't expect materializes. With your attitude, I can't say I'm terribly excited about all of this. FYI - It will take a while to clear out that crack. I would expect more than an hour or two. That tree will need a saw... Low on the route: The grass is the crack Higher on the route:
  15. Ultra Brutal. Speaking of bolts. We should remove that manky tunnel door and the bolts holding together the rock above it. Who knows, all the rock fall could make some nice routes eventually Somebody was in there yesterday. I doubt they would appreciate the chopping of their tunnel.
  16. Ultra Brutal. I am a hard bitch.
  17. I'm still dealing with the fallout of my ill-thought out snack. The office custodian will cope with it later.
  18. Cool. You can teach me some tricks of route development. It's not a squeeze job. The crack is choked with shit almost it's entire length. I'm pretty sure it would be an FA for the crack. The crack is wide hands, maybe a little OW, but it's a low angle slab. The bolts are about 2' to the right. I'm willing to clean and lead, but I'm not willing to chop. I stay out of that sort of thing.
  19. I would be game. Give me some time to mine the crack. It's full of dirt, bushes and grass. This is probably why the climb was bolted. Since you have suggested this plan, I expect help cleaning the main crack.
  20. Backstep smear fingerlock marginal placement
  21. No one else? Really? In theory, the FAist still gets to say. At least officially. If the climb is in a popular area (short hike) with a lot of hard climbs, you might expect a short anchor, whether or not you approve of it. Is this right? No, but it might happen. Also, with a lower rating of .11, there won't be so many gapers (like me) trying it at all. If the start was, say .10b/c, there would be a higher chance of midway anchoring.
  22. GM, Princely, and the 5.7 over the tunnel. No pics, but I have the mosquito bites to prove it.
  23. Dealing with an unfortunate wiping accident getting your cannister stove to melt enough snow in 0 degrees at 10,000' Getting in/out of a Bibler bivy sack when you are 6'3" and 215lbs. Putting on frozen boots
  24. I didn't know I was on any wagon. Why, oh why, did I do this to myself?
  25. I just got back from Index. Does that count?
