We need to wage an email campaign against the media asking if lost hikers should wear beacons and should pay for their own rescues every time one happens. IIRC, YOSAR only charged you something if they felt you had done something egregiously stupid.

They weren't little old ladies. That was Ogranny bin Laden and Muqnana al Sadr. Stupid libtards. If you weren't blinded by your own hatred for America you too could have seen through their poor ruse.

in case you haven't noticed, no one's actually worried about what you think. most rational people realize gun control laws don't work because they don't deal with the underlying causes of gun violence. at the same time, people like you don't seem to think that addressing those causes will make gun owners lives any easier. in fact, most people like you don't seem to bother thinking about underlying causes at all as long as you keep shooting squirrels and crows and refrigerators and road signs with the biggest piece of hardware you can find. the best gun control 'law' i ever heard came from my mother who said once, and only once, to her firearm-toting children: "You kill it, you eat it".

Funny, whenever my dad has had dealings with the IRS folks, he can't ever get the same answer twice out of them. He took to taking a tape recorder with him after awhile. They weren't too happy about that.

Actually, the only military people that ever impress me, or any other people in positions of power or authority or wealth or simply any kind of accomplishment, are those that never ever feel the need to brag or proclaim their deeds or accomplishments. You, sir, strike me as someone in serious need of constant validation. As is often said 'money talks, but wealth whispers'. Seems to me serving your country is the supreme selfless act and not one you get to trot out whenever you disagree with someone's protests about your country's actions. Or did you only join the military so you could blow shit up? Met plenty of those, unfortunately.

that's gonna leave a mark

The enlightened ones and the successful debaters amongst us will no doubt be consider this due to some behind the scenes sabotage by the imperialist US..... One wonders how many epi-cycles they will devise before they understand the obvious. Your posts might generate more traffic if the opposing point of view you frequently try to bait actually existed on this forum. Price controls lead to inflation? Revolutionary! Yaaawwwwwnnnnnnnn. Could you elaborate on the manner in which, in your view, price controls cause inflation? Brain fart?

No not in at least a year, probably more like 3. Dont plan to either. Truth is this is my first visit to spray in at least a couple of months. Oh. Well, then, you need to go read the Fairweather meltdown hissy fit.

This doesn't apply to us. We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. Besides, are you implying that socialist strategies 'evolve'? I see no evidence of transitional forms of socialism.

bugger the economic fiasco, let's hear more about the 'unusual cuts of lamb' maybe if the government provided recipes, all would turn out well!

why keep gun violence and drugs separate when they clearly aren't? that's no way to go about solving a problem. since you aren't actually saying anything, i have no problem hijacking your thread. i have no problem with people having guns to defend themselves. what you want, and aren't saying, is that you want people to leave law-abiding citizens alone. I'm with you on that too. You seem unwilling to connect the dots that if you don't do something about the actual 'drugs/gun problem', there are going to be significant numbers of people who simply say 'ban guns'. You solve the 'gun problem' another way, e.g. by legalizing drugs, people are going to stop thinking about 'gun violence' and leave gun-owning citizens alone, right? all you single article showed was that banning guns doesn't do much. that's not much of a surprise. or was that your only point and you didn't want anyone debating the policy implications of it? wrong place, kemosabe.

Maybe if they showed dead Americans and dead Iraqis holding hands, that'd make everybody happy.
-
Well, yes, hanging drug users and dealers (as an example) would certainly be one way of dealing with the gun violence problem, but I reckon that would be an even harder sell than drug legalization, eh? Well, maybe not the drug dealer problem, per se. Does this mean we could deal with the alcoholism problem the same way? Or did you just mean, 'build more prisons'? If so, I'll just add that to the list of expensive public works projects you're advocating.
-
Of course, the easiest solution to most crime involving guns is probably to legalize drugs and tax the revenue. Fat chance of seeing that happening.
