  1. We'll be getting in REALLY late - so I will see you all Saturday morning. Are you all grabbing breakfast at the Sunspot? B
  2. "So find a different ride. I've got room in my car. I'm leaving Thursday and coming back Sunday." Already committed ;-) Can't leave until Friday after my shift as a corporate monkey ends anyway. "Where do you climb at? Is the foot healed? Are you a 10c kind of girl, or a more moderate 7 or 8? From what I understand, and I could be totally wrong, most routes at Smith are sandbagged. I'm wondering the same thing. Off_White is taking me up the 'slabs' on Saturday morning, and thats rated 5.6 ish I believe. " This will be my first time out since the end of July and I will see how the elbows hold up (they basically are still angry with me). I've been climbing 9s and some 10a's in the gym. My impression at Smith are the ratings are pretty consistent - but that it's always a long way to that first bolt for the Sport Routes. I basically just want to have fun and climb this weekend - the numbers don't matter. That and I really want to meet you and some cc climbers- so look for a PM with my cell and we should go climb stuff!!! B
  3. Yee ha! I am so psyched to climb - will get down really late Friday since my ride can't leave until after 7:00 (at least we'll miss traffic). Ken - I will PM you my cell - let's climb stuff. Any plans for Breakfast Saturday - we can swing by with treats. B
  4. Best way to recover is to start planning the next big trip. Then again, what really sucks is when you can't climb for two months because of a lame typing injury!!!
  5. This will make me popular I am sure - but I don't drink (liquids yes, alcohol no) so I never worry about a DD. Seriously, I really wanted to camp - but have been unable to convince the friend I am driving down with - so drat. Wish I'd gotten more of this feedback sooner (stupid work got in the way and reservations have been made). BUT - if you need someone for a beer run ;-) SOOOOOOO, help a girl out - what to climb?
  6. Mmmmmmmm - sounds appealing RUMR . . . how will we meet up with the CCers . . .breakfast of champions?
  7. I have a friend who wants to crash at the Hub rather than camp this weekend as she says there have been a lot of thefts down at Smith. I think we'll have more fun if we camp and hang out with everyone . . . What d'ya think? I haven't made it down for one of the Smith events yet - anyone crash at a hotel rather than camp? B
  8. So other obligations have killed my hopes to attend the full blown "rope-up" - anyone else have one one day to climb this weekend: Sunday? I could day trip to Leavenworth or am up for climbing practically anywhere that isn't plastic. This is my first time out post "gimpy elbow syndrome" though - so I am definitely not the rope gun. Let me know! B
  9. Geesh - I know the festivities are well underway, but I had a wedding to attend last night (NOT my own, phew) and my climbing plans for today have quickly disintegrated. If anyone wants to make a day trip out of this Sunday - holler - maybe we can carpool. B
  10. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm quesidillas. I miss the Moat . . . how could you forget!!!
  11. I can't add much to the recommendations - In Thin Air is one of my favorites - and Moby Grape is certainly worth doing. For up-to-date route details check out this web site: http://www.chauvinguides.com/guidebook.htm If you go to North Conway you have to stop at the Moat for some beer and great food. Have a blast! B
  12. Hey R: Thanks for the info. - I got your PM too. The L&I paperwork has already been processed and I go to Physical Therapy in an hour. Will look up the exercises you recommend, and have already started friction therapy, ice and way too much advil. I've also been wearing wrist braces at work and to sleep - it's a nice look. Of course I am also very psyched you didn't say "stop climbing" although my weekend plans fro Squamish have been squashed. Will try some easy stuff at the gym tomorrow. Stay tuned! B
  13. Oh the pressure: I did exclaim once that I would spontaeniously combust if I didn't get away from my computer but for the most part my "excuses" are simple and lame: Migraine coming on Have to get some work done on my car What can I say, I am also a firm believer in the "mental health day."
  14. Cool D - I need to do something . . . sitting around resting gets old real quick. Um, actually, I haven't actually done the sitting around resting part yet. Just came in from a run. But the not climbing on such a nice day really sucks. B
  15. Um yeah - I destroyed that picture . . . so sorry
  16. you're a GIRLY! tell em you've got menstrual cramps! NO BOSS will go THERE I work in HR - you'd be amazed where HR people will go BUT I will get out there, I promise. Need to rest my hands this week as I am in gimp mode - will be back out soon. Only so much resting I can do. Maybe we should create a thread for best excuses to bolt out of work early!!! B
  17. Right you are IG, it is about your elbows - PM is on the way. Nerve gets damaged near the elbow (in this case, too much leaning on my elbows while designing those systems for work) - but my hands are tingling/numb by the pinky and bottom of my hands. It's not a climbing injury - but I was just curious if any other climbers in here had experience with it. Anyone?
  18. Just got word - the tingling hands and sore elbows aren't climbing related at all but too much work (on a silly computer, much like this one). Evil I tell ya. Anyone else have experience with UTS? How long did it take to fully recover and when can I start climbing hard again. A week off ought to do it right? ::::::sigh::::::::::::::::
  19. Awwwwwwwwwww man - ya'll look like you are having so much fun. Dratted evil corporate America job - lil ole me breaking rocks for the man instead of climbing them like a proper Dirt Betty should. Not this week - maybe I can sneak out next. Got rope and gear and attitude - anything else I need?
  20. I love my Gregory pack (I have the Forrester) because the shoulder straps are adjustable and if you need a smaller/larger hip belt they for the torso length you can get it (I'm 5'4).
  21. All I know is I was there last night and they had new DMM Cams - Ooooooooooooh. In time grasshopper. Then again, it doesn't mean I have to buy them there - but gotta love gear joy. B
  22. Hey Ken: I had good luck finding partners through this board when I was down there over Thanksgiving. http://giantsoftware.com/sdcc/partners/partners.asp It's the San Diego Climbers Coalition . . . Good luck, I'm jealous.
  23. It was fun to meet so many of you in person . . .heck, and even I introduced myself to Greg W. Didn't witness any secret handshakes though! B
