  1. Nope, but we look alike - at least in here
  2. Hey Ken - I moved from Boston 4/15, so who knows, maybe we knew each other back east. You have more trad experience than I do (but I am looking to get more) but I can say, it's been really easy to meet up with climbers around here. Back East I climbed in North Conway a few times, but hit Rumney almost every weekend a multipitch wasn't in order. I do miss the Moat and the Tilton Diner for post climbing refreshments!!! You didn't say where in the PNW you are but I live and work in Seattle, and have been getting to Vertical World at least one day during the week, and Deception Crags (Exit 38, sport) one weeknight and wherever I can get on real rock over the weekend (climbed at Vantage Saturday). If you want to meet up at VW Thursday I will be there and can introduce you to some of the climbers I've met. Let me know! B
  3. Dude - I climb 5.10!!! OK, I wouldn't have made that 5.10C if I wasn't on top rope - but still!!! In time grasshopper . . . leading, now that's another story. It was very cool to climb outside and to meet you guys - and anywhere outside beats a gym if you ask me. See - I told you I was real. B
  4. I'd love to get out on some real rock. I've recently relocated to Seattle - so my climbing connections are limited. I've met some cool people hitting the gym - but haven't met up with many with outside experience. As for me - most of my experience is TR and Sport . . . I've seconded on a few (3 to be exact) multipitch climbs and would love to do more. My trad leading experience has only been with a backup toprope so far - but I am ready to learn. Oh yeah, and I'm a chic too Let's get outside!!!
  5. Hmmmmmmmm, well I am a real girl and guess a real man would be able to figure that out.
  6. Geesh - what do I have to do to prove that I really am moving AND wanted some information on climbing. How lame is this.
  7. As the new girl who REALLY is moving to Seattle from Boston - I have to say I was "a bit" put off by the responses to my posting in the forum. I was looking for a little beta about climbing out there and read very little that related to climbing at all. Then again, many of you don't really believe I exist - so there is obviously a problem with some sort of abuse in here. . . Then again, I have received some cool PM's and have found this site amusing. To actually talk about climbing though - think I'd be better off elsewhere. -B
  8. Ick NEXT!
  9. Yes, I am just a figment of your imagination. I am not real - or maybe I am just too good to be true. Time will tell.
  10. Soon grasshopper . . . Gee, the replies here have been really, um, "helpful." Then again, it's SNOWING here. I can't move fast enough . . .
  11. Of course I've climbed at Quincy Quarries, Ragged Mountain, Crow Hill . . . but the best climbing around here is up in the White Mountains. Cathedral and White Horse are pretty much it for multi-pitch and you really can't beat Rumney for sport. Acadia is a complete novelty (climbing over the ocean) and the camping is awesome. I haven't made it to the Gunks - which is a shame - but that's what frequent flier miles are for. Besides, I have people to climb with back here I am moving to Seattle for a job - and because I am ready for a change of scene. But alas, it's almost 1 am and I am calling it a night. Stay tuned for the continuing saga . . .
  12. Ahhhhhhhhhh - the rite of passage. Good thing I have all that training from growing up on military bases . . . As for the 3 hour drive - I drive that now EVERY weekend in season . . . but only have two places really to choose from. I am psyched to have more options to climb - I mean I am moving across the country to do so. SO, I will be there on April 12th . . . I will be the "fresh meat" apparently at the gym or on the rock. Hear me roar!
  13. Hey BillyGoat - Well that depends what you mean by "action" - but I am pretty psyched to get somewhere where the climbing season is longer than 6 months and there are more places to climb within an easy drive that Rumney and Cathedral!
  14. Hmmmmmmm - and here I always thought people in Boston had attitude. Anyone in here actually want to reply with something related to climbing - or is this supposed to keep me away from your home crags? You know, once you're hooked your hooked.
  15. The People's Republic of Cambridge - aka Harvard Square
  16. Hey all - I am moving to Seattle in less than two weeks (from Boston) and am eager to get on some real rock in the PNW. It's still snowing here!!! Any tips on meeting up with some WA climbers? I typically train in a gym but LIVE to get outside (most of my experience is with sport or seconding trad, although I did get my first BIG lead fall out of the way last season). I make a mean trail mix, and will happily serve as a belay slave for some WA beta. Thanks!
