I'm not sane or rational... I prefer the slide on my ass technique for descending wet gullies...

I don't think most of us are talkin shit about the actual people doing the routine, but the routine itself... Personally I feel like scrambling up a five foot slab with one person telling you how to do it, one ready to catch you if you fall, and five others standing around watching is a little redicules...

I learned to rappel off vertical cliffs, and out of trees... If those fucking weak asses are to sketched to walk down a dirt slope like the polypro dude or can't figure out how to scramble down easy ass slabs, then they don't belong out in the wild!!! "just my thoughts ladies and gentlemen, just what I' was feelin at the time". If you need to learn that way, what ever... but I still think that this is a weak and senseless activity to put poor sap through just so they can go home and tell honey that they are a climber now... maybe I'm bein a little harsh, but that just what I think...

Although I usta do a simular belay before I real was into climbing, sept I would twist a 1 1/2in. twine style rope(from local ace buyers) around my arm, then run it under my ass and grip tight with the other hand at shoulder level, heavy leather gloves required... usta drop fifty+ foot verts like that when I was 12... You have just been kicked into the Mounties! Fuck that!!! just for sumtin I did when I was twelve...

Agreed. Especially girlz that lead, and have tight asses... just as long as they ain't the whiny type they be coo... Me my self, adventure climbing... uncharted trad lines that are found through binoculars and old forrest service maps. the kind that you feel like your lost, and about the time ya give up and try to find your car, poof there it be bro... spending way to long gapin your way up a no so hard line about half scared for your safety on loose blocks... that is "IT" for me!!!

Between the the forest fires and the feild burning there is not one patch of blue sky hear in eugene today... it so suck The wind brough the smoke off the cascades some time last night, most of the time I don't mind the cool mountain wind blowin down to the valley... but this time it sux!!!
