Well with the baby on the way etc, money is quickly becoming very important. I don't especially like saying that, but it's the truth! So we have 4 months before the baby so I quickly decided to quit the worst job I've ever had (teaching english to wealthy kids and only making $2 an hour) and look for new work. After approximately 3 hours of making contacts I got three new jobs! 1. Translating a 225 page book of interviews about Socialism in Mongolia = $2,100USD 2. Translating poems for Mend-Ooyo on a permanent basis: $3USD per line of poetry (plus he asked me to give a speech on the translation of Mongolian poetry at the 26th World Congress of Poets in September here in MGL www.poetry-culture.mn) 3. Tutoring the son of Admon's director (the largest printing and publishing company in MGL) $8.50/hr so it's a start......But hopefully after all this work finishes in September I hope maybe I can get a REAL job..... wouldn't mind doing more professional translations, pays well and I continually learn new things about both history and the mongolian language. This book is probably the single coolest piece of work I've ever done. I am the lone translator, and it's a book that will hopefully prove some of my skills and be a big sign on my resume once it's done. So those are my thoughts.... I also got asked by www.neweurasia.net to start a Mongolian news blog for them, so that'll be up soon and I'll post the link later. futons are good for the bottom of the wall, but if your floor is concrete then landing on your back from 8ft on a futton will leave you sucking for air. Fight the wife, get those old soft mattresses with no springs, but the ones that are better than futons. If you have a crash pad or two just through that over the hard mattresses if you can't find good ones. In our gym we had like 8 mattresses a 3-4 crashpads. Just tell everyone who climbs there to store their crashpads there, makes everything much easier.

Well I'm in Mongolia, so pretty far from Tibet.....I really have no clue what they need in Nepal/Tibet, but I'm sure whatever you give will get put to use. There are a ton of NGOS and stuff, search online and I'm sure you can find out what is most needed. But hey if you come to MGL I can help you out!
