Thought you guys might like this.... as i approached the "AIR CHAMBER" where ski slope hardmen with their reflective oakley gogles like to grab big air, and do sick ass tricks under the chair go to strutt their shit, i heard the following yelled by a snowboarder to one of his bretheren that was descending onto the jumps: quote: Get out of the way you fucking gaper. I hadn't heard the word uttered out loud in so long, only in my mind when i was trying to struggle up a tough 5.2 at smith, and i instantly fell over laughing. isn't life great?

Gates open at noon today, let the gapage fly, and the fricking RV's return to the promised land of volcanic scree...

Update: Road is clear as far as I can see from Dutchman flat. Gate is still closed though, saw on some other sites that they might leave the gates closed this weekend (one by Elk Lake and the other outside West Village parking lot) If so, you could bike back into Todd Lake or Devils Lake for some supah fine freshies, got some new night before last... saturday is looking shatty though on the forecast.

I think this is some good feedback... folks be sure to respond to the survey, and then post other comments here as well. WORD

All are welcome.... we'll try to make it out to grasslands to pube club as well, so what is it so far, around 10 folks coming? Any preferences on deschutes brew? dark, amber, or sally light?

AVALANCHE FORECAST USE SURVEY This short survey is being used to gather data about how often backcountry travelers use avalanche forecast services before taking trips into the Cascades of Washington and Oregon. Please read the questions carefully and post your answers in a reply. *********************************** I had to shorten some of the questions, and used NWAC to replace Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center. Sorry for the non-climbing thread, but we've been getting accused of spreading around the virus luvin lately, so I wanted to take a quick second to edumicate all of you 'bout deez viruses that be spreadin round right now: (if you are a mac owner like jon, you suck, and these don't do shit to your computers so don'tcha worrboudit) KLEZ Klez is your typical mass mailer worm virus that attacks users of ms outlook and outlook express. It is a very clever virus though, and when it goes to spread its infestation to others via your address book it does the following: -sends out emails that appear to be sent by others in your address book (eg if you had climb@cascadeclimbers.com in your address book, it would send out viruses to others on behalf of Jon and I) -sends out 2 attachments, 1 is the virus, the other is a random document from your hard drive... hope you cleaned off the porn, otherwise your gonna get embarassed. -disquieses the subject, changes from mail to mail, but will often say: congratulations, or Virus warning, or Japanese Lass's sexy pictures or other shit like that Once your computer is infected, it goes in and renders your virus scanning useless by either deleting or renaming Norton and McAfee anti virus files. It will also infect all sorts of programs on your computer that automatically startup when windows runs, so it will re-infect if you somehow clean it off. It is a bitch to remove, but if you think you have it, PM me, don't email me , and i'll tell ya how to fix, or you can visit symantec's website to get fixes: http://securityresponse.symantec.com Java Teddy Bear File Hoax There is also an email going around that tells you to delete a file from your hard drive. This is a hoax and will fuck up your Java install: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jdbgmgr.exe.file.hoax.html Thats all. So if you are getting a virus that appears to be from @cascadeclimbers.com, its not us, cuz we're clean! -Tim

... when you fall on your a$$ whilst riding and blame it on the cascades crud/cement and dream of freshiez ... you have a love/hate relationship with the word freshiez, you just can't stand it, but whenever you see something white, you hear yourself saying "f r e s h i e z "

When: This Sunday 7:00PM Where: Timm@y's house in Bend 1657 SE Virginia Bend, OR 97702 Map Quest Since I'm a loaner, and nobody ever wants to pube club with me, i'm throwing a bbq for the throngs of cc.com goers that are coming to the promised land of central oregon this weekend. The weather is looking a bit questionable right now, but i'm sure the forecast will change as the week goes by. So, after yer done craggin away, take the lycra off, and head south to my bungalo in bend. pick up some meat, or sausage, or bocca burgers, whatever your preference, and come slap it on the grill. If enough people are interested in coming, I'll get a pony keg from deschutes brewery, am open to suggestions on the flavor. For entertainment, we will have live puppy porn from chinook and sierra, and my beloved dad ethan will be in the mix to tell us about his epic day on the golf course. Bring your thirst, any liqour you may want, some beef chub, and some swimin trunks for the hot tub, or if you want to chill in the pond with the dogs. WORD, lemme know if you are coming by responding to the thread. If anyone happens to have too much fun, there is plenty of room in the backyard/floors for crashing. -Tim [ 05-22-2002, 08:19 AM: Message edited by: gapertimmy ]

Honestly though, I agree with you, I only go on weekdays and its super keen! I can throw my pinklycracladarse on any bolt lader I please. But I want to pubeclub with the smithers this weekend, thats why i asked.
-
definately pub club. I was thinking about possibly having a bbq at my house on sunday night possibly. just wanted to see if anyone would want to do something like that
-
Who all is heading to smith for the holiday weekend?
-
On the drive in this morning, I saw the odot rigs lined up at dutchman flat to remove the last couple feet from the cascade lakes loop. looks like it might be open for the holiday weekend, I'll keep y'all posted. Tim
-
So I'm not part of the pub club forray, unfortunatley, but I'm always amused at the threads/arguments about where to go... Why doesn't one person put together a month schedule, with all the dates, times, and places it will be... that way there won't be any ?'s about where to go drink. just a thought....

my commute is 44m RT, 3500+ elevation gain, i do it in a twinkie bus though
