If there were to be a carving at the base of a route, you wouldn't even have a choice - there it would be, a constant reminder to everyone. Though it would serve as a memorial and a tribute, it would also be kind of spooky. I'm just wondering if this would be a good or a bad thing, all things considered? Humans like their memorials. There are crosses and plaques all over the mountains in Europe, and how many times have you seen the same on the side of the road where someone was killed in or by a car. It's all over and it's not supposed to be spooky, just a remembrance.

  3. I agree. The carving in the rock is a nice enough memorial IMHO.

  5. If you're just looking for a shotgun for defense, Butch's on Aurora has shorty shotguns with a pistol grip that are relatively cheap. No choke or rifled barrel though so short range only.

    FRESHIEZ

Is this about the FRESHIEZ Dwayner? Anyway, we're hitting records for attendance every week and we've been through all of this before about local legends not posting here and I think the general consensus was basically that if you like it, great and if you don't, sorry.

  8. Any left-wing Oregon posters conspicuously missing this morning? FBI Arrests Four on Terror Charges Friday, October 04, 2002 PORTLAND, Ore. — At least four American-born U.S. citizens have been arrested by the FBI on charges they tried to sign up with terrorists to fight against the United States after the Sept. 11 attacks. The suspects were arrested in Portland. There were reports that two other American citizens -- one in Detroit and one overseas, possibly in Malaysia -- also were in custody. Officials told Fox News that the arrests are related to the Al Qaeda terror group, but it is not clear that the detained Americans were actual members of the group. Attorney General John Ashcroft planned to reveal details of the arrests at a 1 p.m. EDT press conference.

What's the prize? But near the top-right corner looks like a river coming in or going out....
  11. Three weeks ago I did a marathon hike in a weekend. I can't imagine how I'd have felt going a third long day in a row. I ate everything I brought that was easy to munch on the go - trailmix, gummybears, candybars, pepperoni, and tons of powergel. Calories were the only thing keeping me going those last few miles to the car. I never wanted to stop and break out a sandwich until I was done the first day. Good f'n luck, I'm jealous.
