CPSC Says Snowshoe Bindings Recalled To Prevent Injury

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--A Vermont company is voluntarily recalling about 420
snowshoe bindings, a safety regulator said Wednesday.
Trak Inc., which does business as Karhu Inc. of Burlington, is recalling the
bindings, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
"Screws and other hardware used to keep the bindings intact are too short,
causing the binding to separate from the shoe," the CPSC said. "This poses a
fall hazard to consumers."
CPSC and Trak Inc. are not aware of any injuries involving these bindings.
"This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury," the
agency said.
The recall involves bindings sold on the "Karhu Meta Sweeper" and "Karhu
Morph Sweeper" snowshoes.
A variety of retailers sold the snowshoes nationwide during November for
about $250.
