I climb with my son. He just turned seven. Mostly bouldering and top roping. No big adventures yet. We enjoy getting out together.

Shit, I started out soloing, the purest form of the sport. Then I realized "hey, this is dangerous" and corrupted it with fear. Now I got a rope and a bunch of gear and credit card debt and I compare myself to others and know what a 5.10 is and spend my time spraying on CC.Com......

Did you have to redownload all your updates? Is there a way to save them to disk before I restore?

That's good to know I just don't like the hassle factor. I'll have to redo my settings and redownload my updates as far as I can tell. I am still on dial-up and it takes forever

The HP tech rep thinks I should do a system restore. I have some basic software glitches but he seems reluctant to troubleshoot. Is it effective or just more expedient (cheap and simple) for them to perform? I've backed up all my data but what about all the MS and Symantec updates? Will I have to do those all again?! what should I be wary of....

Trango Extreme S is a better Alpine boot than an Ice boot. I love mine for the weight and climbability. The uppers are not nearly as durable as leather and I have not tested their water repellancy. I think I will try them on Rainier this coming Spring.

The town was totally cool until about '87. But I think that the money has always been there. People are just flashing it more. The Trustafarians are eschewing their parents wealth and beliefs yet are totally (generalization) dependent upon graciousness from home. That's what makes them prone to satire.

It just blows me away how much money a lot of these families have. At least these Trustafarians are redistributing it back to some of us. they do spend freely. It is their parents who hoard and support Bush IMHO

Formy, That is some funny shit Normally I would just say that is steroetyping (which it is) but I have lived in Boulder, Crested Butte and Telluride long enough to verify your worst fears. They, for the most part are really sweet and giving people (except the Nazi Vegan types) but it is a little rough to hang with them sometimes. That is one of the reasons we are raising our kid here. Just so you know, they are only the patchouli smelling tip of the iceberg, There are so many around you and most of them dress down, from the lift-op that drives a 40k SUV to the kid that took over the Family business but has other people run it because he is too busy off-road racing down in Baja....
