  1. Hey Greg, I can sure tell because you fart like your core is conditioned to push stuff out before it has time to properly digest (that's actually why I "forgot" to bring the tent) oops, did I foul this thread?
  2. No, it's the "If a tree falls in the woods...." Let's pretend the belayer fell asleep or was hit it the head with a freshly born boulder, or had his head eaten by a female but his body kept belaying her...
  3. If there are no witnesses and a climber onsights a route and doesn't spray about it, did it really happen? Or is it all in his mind?
  4. I'll tell you where: Don't forget to duck!
  5. I thought a "Flash" was the first naked ascent (right Dru?!) and that would make a pinkpoint the....
  6. Yeah, real fresh. You can still smell the sulphur
  7. Well obviously Jordop, he was trying to draw people away from the Liberty Bell group because it was getting crowded there. That Snout is absolutely crap. Full of boggers in fact. I wouldn't waste any time up there. All the same, photocopy that article for me so I can put it in my "climbs to avoid" file. thanks BG
  8. We saw a very large Black Bear at the end of the Cascade River Road this past Saturday. How common are sightings of them?
  9. The rock is all snow free as of last Saturday, but it could be snowing there right now. As far as a rack, read either the Nelson or Beckey guides as I have not climbed it.
  10. He wasn't wearing the helmet at the time; that pic was taken on our way down. helmets wouldn't have helped for shit. Apparently nothing exciting ever happens when you live on an island; we heard about Billygoat's "near death" experience all fucking night. It was spicy, for sure. Yeah, well at least I didn't have my arms around Vegetablebelay screaming like a little girl...
  11. I hid behind the rock on my right as the rock on my left, along with many others, came crashing down upon us
  12. It was a total freak show! I was thinking of you after it happened. I knew you could appreciate a good trundling and would have wanted to be at ground zero. Hold on. I'll post some photos...
  13. Friday met up with Dave the mason, headed up Cascade River Road to do Forbidden, ran in a couple sketchy looking dudes whom we thought, at first, were cooking up meth in a broken down old winnebago, but as it turned out were just having electrical problems and had been stuck there for two days, passing the time drinking and puffing the hay. We fixed the problem and got the thing started and were celebrating when we managed to terrorize a passing AAI van full of marks and a cute young couple from B'ham in a pick up, who must of thought we were having a full blown meth party. Well, we were rewarded with some soapstone and headed on our way. We woke up to rain and a large bear. It was brown coloured but prolly was a very large black bear, not a griz. GregW and Vegetablebelay showed up around 9:30 and proclaimed the scene too wet so we all headed up to Wa Pass in hopes of some dry alpine. We were rewarded and geared up in the Blue Lakes parking lot. We headed up to SEWS. Along the way, just below the Liberty Bell Southwest gulley, as we were crossing the talus field, we heard an immense rumbling. We froze for awhile and then from around the corner came massivilly massive amounts of boulders and debris! All towards us!!!!! I yelled LOOK OUT and turned and found a large boulder and jumped behind it just as shit started raining down. It was all sulphur and dust as projectiles flew and slammed past my position. As soon as it all settled down, I got out and yelled to locate and determine the condition of my partners. All were ok and when we surveyed the wreckage, trees rocks and boulders were everywhere. A huge one brought down a tree and landed right next to my shelter! We laughed a bit disbelievingly and continued on to climb the south arete. Ran into a Goat. got snowed on and had a blast. Whiskey, beer and steaks for dinner down in Winthrop. Camped up at the pass with hopes to do Black Peak early the next morning but it rained and snowed all night. Headed down to Mazama for coffee and sun. Greg and Vegey headed back to Seattle and Dave and I went and climbed at fun rocks all day in the sun!
  14. I forgot about Greg's irritable bowel syndrom. Good thing he is bringing his own personal bivy sack this weekend. altho it probably has more to do with my inability to remember to bring my tent rather than any consideration that we won't let him into the tent I'll probably forget to bring, methinks...
  15. Yeah it's all kitty litter. Nothing up there worth doing. Absolute choss. You should head to 11worth. Move along now...
  16. I'll do the Snout with ya. In fact Michael Layton is interested too. I have a picture of it in my gallery. I skied up around there last spring ('03) Looked damn fine to me. Just off the beaten path and too close to Lib/Early/Wine/Cutthroat for the masses to care about. We actually climbed a crag across the valley that was quite superb, has no name and won't get one from me. That whole area is ripe with adventure climbing on good rock IMO
  17. The asseyes are out of the bag!
  18. Right On You Guys! Good Call. BTW Go to the properties of the photo and copy the url or whatever it is. If you just copy it from the top of your window it will not work.
  19. Geez...Earth girls are easy What's everybody gettin' all worked up about?!
  20. Dude, those guys are just plain fun. You mutherz are so frickin' uptight. Smell my glove pissants!
  21. Dood, I tried to send some more to make the emoticons reappear but the paypal said I was paid up to 2005 (whatever that means) and wouldn't let me. The little buggers still don't show (but the name will come up if I hover my cursor over them) I think the "stop hotlinking" deal is shutting them down for me. Anyways, let me know how I can send some more $$$$ Cheers to crazy ideas! BG
  22. Thanks for the Beta Wingy. Mr. Chips, thanks for being you...
