naughty mary ann DRIGGS, Idaho - Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann on "Gilligan's Island," is serving six months' unsupervised probation after allegedly being caught with marijuana in her car. She was sentenced Feb. 29 to five days in jail, fined $410.50 and placed on probation after pleading guilty to one count of reckless driving. Under a plea agreement, three misdemeanor counts — driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance — were dropped. On Oct. 18, Teton County sheriff's Deputy Joseph Gutierrez arrested Wells as she was driving home from a surprise birthday party that was held for her. According to the sheriff's office report, Gutierrez pulled Wells over after noticing her swerve and repeatedly speed up and slow down. When Gutierrez asked about a marijuana smell, Wells said she'd just given a ride to three hitchhikers and had dropped them off when they began smoking something. Gutierrez found half-smoked joints and two small cases used to store marijuana. The 69-year-old Wells, founder of the Idaho Film and Television Institute and organizer of the region's annual family movie festival called the Spud Fest, then failed a sobriety test. Wells' lawyer, Ron Swafford, said that a friend of Wells' testified that he'd left a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle after using it that day, and that Wells was unaware of it. Swafford also said several witnesses were prepared to testify that Wells had very little to drink at the party and was not intoxicated when she left. He said she was swerving on the road because she was trying to find the heater controls in her new car.

i didn't say she should bail out on him. maybe she should but arch has a point after 20 years, i'm not going to judge that decision. i just think it sucks that she was up there with him in front of the cameras. she's a better woman than i am.
-
but she obviously wasn't in her happy mood up there. she shouldn't have to endure that kind of public discomfort for something he did. yeah marriage....support him...blah blah blah.....
-
i'm stunned she was up there with him. how the hell did he manage that?

this whole thread annoys me to no end First of choada boy-- yeah the shit in darfur is more important to the world than this achievement. but are you spending every waking moment or even very many of them doing something about it? second of all - the world is more interesting place b/c people do unique and challenging things. perhaps we should all be out trying to save the world all the time but that would leave us devoid of great piano concertos and stunning olympic performances. she climbed something bad ass. WTF is so wrong w/acknowleding that? there's no hero worship going on here. some of us are just capable of saying "good job" when someone does something interesting. fuck people! quit being such fuckfaces!

*I* have no idea what hard climbing feels like. and i sure the hell don't want to come off like i even remotely understand in climbing terms what was involved w/doing it. i just think it sucks that some people have to be so lame.
-
stoopid dru! i should've known it was him!

oh good grief, you people are idiots today. recognition? how did that even become an issue? seems a bit presumptuous since the climber in question hasn't said anything about it. as for the concert pianist brightening the world for others, what a load of crap. anyone who practices and/or trains to do something at an extraordinarily high level is doing it for selfish reasons. personal satisfaction. the same reasons most of us climb. if the world is a brighter place, great. if not i doubt they care. they may be an attention whore and like to perform in front of an audience for the applause...selfish. they love the music and want to perform it perfectly...personal and selfish. who cares what the underlying reason why she climbed it was? it's an impressive accomplishment in part b/c it took that level of practice. i used to be pretty damn good at my chosen sport (which is not climbing). that took years and years of practice. and still does 30+ years later. all of that practice might lead to an occasional performance that was nearly perfect. a mere 2-3 minutes of time and it could take months to prepare for it. completely selfish. no one was getting anything out of it but me. and yeah it could easily take months of preparation and practice before attempting certain levels of competition. sure it was easier after the first time but it could take months and years to get to that point. imo, you're foolish if you don't think this is an accomplishment b/c she "rehearsed" it.

you say that like tying you down is a bad thing
-
Yeah, fucking and jacking off are the exact same thing. they are for some people. other people are good at fucking
-
other people probably did say i want to grow up and be a computer geek. the point is that there is no point when any young girl says "hey, i WANT to be a whore"
-
LMFAO!!!!! no they say i want to marry a rich guy.
-
regardless, i think marriage is overrated but you can argue for societal stability and i won't think you're an idiot.
