definitely. i've rapped off stuff that is far sketchier than a refrigerator sized boulder. while it's possible this accident may have been avoided, it's certainly a long way from being the stupidest thing done in the mountains. perhaps the discussion of "could this have been avoided" could be moved to the rockfall thread or it's own thread? we could leave this one as a place to share memories and offer condolences to the friends and family of these folks.

i'm just stunned that there are 17 states including our own that haven't outlawed this. i mean i'd expect it to be encouraged in idaho but come on..... i guess specialed and mike layton must be part of a pretty powerful lobby group.

i like the emissions trading concept for industrial entities. i don't know why but i feel pretty strongly that it's a lame way to justify commuting in your SUV.

happens to me a fair bit. i find that after the initial moment that it happens, it feels funny but i'm able to use it just fine. with in a couple of minutes and moves it's back to normal. i just try and move on like nothing happend.
