  1. Three friends of mine did nine of those peaks on September 9, 1999. The total elevation gain was about 9,000 ft.
  2. Naval ships should not be named after living persons, and especially should not be named after those still holding office.

    Trimming Down

    U r so lame
  7. Here's one: "Carpetland". Used by lab dwellers in reference to that part of the workplace inhabited by paper pushers and bean counters.
  8. If you had taken my advice and gone the way I told you, it would have been a breeze. Ask Toast, Iceguy or Ade and they will tell you how easy it was. Okay, maybe you didn't have 60 meter ropes.
  9. Klenke it would be a lot more interesting if you would just post your list of respectable people to this thread. Also, please post your list of disreputable people. That would be interesting too.
  10. Some peroxide based toothpastes are divided because the peroxide would bleach out the colored part if they were to contact. People like color in their toothpaste. If it weren't for that, they would just use white. So yes, it is a gimmick. I used to work for sonicare which at the time was developing toothpastes and mouthwashes. I can tell you stuff you don't even want to know, so I won't.

    ass wipe

I thought it was the self-defacating series.
  12. Erik just went on one of his binges. He wants to learn how to become a bulimic.
  13. California drivers haul ass. If you only go 60 mph in a 60 mph zone, you are going to get treadmarks over your roof. The 405 has 8 or 9 lanes and everybody is going 80.

    BECK

This bitching and whining has got to stop. Some of you sound like a bunch of old women at the nursing home fighting over the remote control. I'm going to rope up and I'm going climb, drink, camp, hang out and have fun. I don't know what the rest of you are going to do.
  15. Yes, if you are going to get bad instruction you might as well get it for free.
  16. Dude, you go climb the gendarme on N. Ridge Stuart in boots and Sphinx and I will each buy you one of those 32 oz Sloop flagons of ale.

Greg, you should try for an appointment as a foreign diplomat under the Bush administration. You have such a flair for words. And so persuasive too.
  18. I climbed in my mountain boots just to see what it would be like. No surprise that the first moves up the chimney seemed a little harder.
  19. Dryad leading the third pitch of the Beckey Route. Photo This was her first multipitch alpine trad lead and she did very well. Gear was good and so was the route finding. Good job.
  20. Nichole, if you are put off by the wolves, you can try contacting the gals of cc.com: maryk, minx, adventuregal, climbingirl33, thelawgoddess, ehmic, muffy_the_wanker_sprayer, ChrisT, or dryad. There are others too. I may have mispelled some of the names but you can look them up. You can climb with them and they can also tell you which guys are safe and which aren't.

    Birthday!

It means he has reached the emotional age of two. "No"; "I don't wanna"; "Make me"; "sppppppfffff"
  22. The owners found me. They live in Tacoma. A gal named Jen and her fiancee. Apparently they were usind double ropes and one rope got around a horn or something and she couldn't reach the cam so left it. They were doing some sort of variation on the Beckey Route that involves going up the arete to the right of the tunnel. I'll have to try that next time.
  23. From Liberty Bell, we could see one fire to the south and four fires to the north and northeast. I sure hope we get some rain soon.
  24. I would agree with you that few persons forced to use a gun for defense in their own home are charged. Outside of the home the statistics are different. I should point out that the article I cited has many statistics friendly to your point if view, if you should happen to read it. There is the one for example that in England more burglaries occur in occupied homes because people aren't allowed to have guns there.
  25. I'm not full of crap. I have data. There were on average about 400 police and 300 civilian justified homicides from 1993 to 1997. During the same period there were about 21,000 murders. Who is full of crap? Source
