  1. OMG. That is just sick, man, sick!
  2. For a climber, I would expect that something like that would be a bit of a hindrance.
  3. Just got back. It was pretty wet everywhere except Nevermind Wall and the 5.9 route that goes up to the right was wet at the top. It was so slimy we couldn't finish it. We did do a 5.10c and 5.10a that were dry. We climbed until it was dark.
  4. I've heard of ginger used as a tea, but not used externally as a soak. http://healthyherbs.about.com/cs/herbsasfood/a/aa113002.htm
  5. If Layton ever comes over to party, you'll have to make sure he isn't packing a machete!
  6. Nevermind. Wall, that is.
  7. I've actually seen Vancouverites get frustrated enough with the weather to actually drive all the way to Vantage. They smile when they get there, just because the sun is shining. When the weather is nice, Squamish is terrific, though.
  8. No these aren't the Basic students, or even the Intermediate Students. I doubt there will be any shorts over polypro, or blue blockers for the gallery. But then, you never know. If you are in the area, drop by Sunday morning for banana-walnut pancakes.
  9. Ever see a chicken with prolapse? It's not a pretty sight.
  10. All I can say is that Carl Rove is a rare genius- evil genius, that is. He's the Lex Luthor of politics. He's so smart that had he applied that intelligence to technology, we'd have fusion energy by now. Chances are though, he would have gotten together with Edward Teller and designed the next doomsday bomb.
  11. That was local politics. It didn't happen on a national scale.
  12. Dick Nixon was known for his dirty tricks, but he has been greatly surpassed of late.
  13. Did you watch the program last night on the Great Flu Pandemic of 1916? I'll bet you watched with feverish intensity.
  14. "Dolorite pillars". That is a very sad sort of rock. "Practically untouched for a billions years, or more". Hmmm...
  15. Do you think it would be better not to? Maybe wait until things get out of hand and then have the police involved?
  16. I guess I haven't been paying attention until this morning when I saw an article in the PI. Some of Bush's cronies cooked up a scheme in 2002 to jam the phones of a Democratic get-out-the-vote call center in New Hampshire during the election. These guys hired an Idaho telemarketing firm to make a bunch of hangup calls to the Dems office to tie up their phones. John Sununu, the Republican candidate, ended up winning with 51% of the vote. The ring leader, James Tobin, made numerous calls to the Political Affairs office in the White House. I'll bet the whole thing was Carl Rove's idea. Story in the PI Another Article
  17. Not only is there not any DNA evidence of the alleged perps. There isn't any DNA evidence to show that the victim was where the alleged crime took place.
  18. I'm thinking this week we should go out for burgers at the North Bend Bar and Grill after climbing. Might not want to if we go to Pub Club on Tuesday, though.
  19. Most people don't think of WI5 as a "Rest Pitch".
  20. Farrell nailed it. That's so friggin' funny. Know why? It's not very far from the truth.
  21. That was my plan almost exactly. Wednesday is supposed to have the best weather this week. Which spot shall we hit this time? The mighty Gritscone?
  22. I am sure you are speaking from experience.
  23. Think about how life jackets are designed. If the floatation were on your back which way would you float- face up or face down?
  24. You can add seasickness to the list of dangers when climbing icebergs. I wonder if frozen barf takes tools well.
  25. Do tell, Ivan!
