  1. Tell me again, Why is that nice when the market drops like a rock?
  2. Thats a good thing, and certainly worth considering. Frankly, when I bought the Lil Dawg, I thought I would have drilled at least a hundred holes by now. Reality, however......sigh....So I can't speak to doing repetitive holes at all. Sorry to say. I confess ignorance to that, however, from everything I've seen, the Lit-Ion are less environmentally ugly, and they last longer before they totally die.
  3. Just borrow Johns! (Sorry but Lil Dawg is fully engaged!) Not anywhere near this clean anymore, although he's been slacking big time - having only put in 3 protection bolts (one later removed) in 10-11 new routes. To his credit, he's done some anchor work as well. How long till Dwayner and Pope show up raging like angry, toothless, banjo-picking, narrow minded Nazi bumpkins? I propose an office pool. I have the 3:30pm today slot. BTW, I wasn't going to post here but John called me out. Sorry. BTW, Lil' Dawg rules, but damn is it heavy. If you want to go hiking in the backwoods with him, after you've tossed in a bunch of gear and ropes, food, water, hammers, hardware, blah blah: it's ugly, real ugly.

Link " WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday threw out the record $2.5 billion in punitive damages that Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) had been ordered to pay for the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill off Alaska, the nation's worst tanker spill. ADVERTISEMENT By a 5-3 vote, the high court ruled that the punitive damages award should be slashed -- limited by the circumstances of the case to an amount equal to the total relevant compensatory damages of $507.5 million." ......................lots more, read the link for full text.

    Ralp Nader WTF!

Does this guy get paid by the Republicans or WTF is his issue? My bro keeps voting for the dude too, convinced he's a good soul. I highly suspect, given various evidence and also that he gets huge support from Trial Lawyers, that is a falsehood. Did anyone even know he was still running for President this year? He successfully was able to avert an Al Gore Presidency which got Geo Bush elected....wouldn't you think he'd want to rest after that kind of accomplishment? What does that mean? "Obama is talking White?" Why would Nader say that? Link Nader: Obama 'talking white' By M.E. Sprengelmeyer, Rocky Mountain News Wednesday, June 25, 2008 Ralph Nader, who is running for president, talks about Barack Obama in his Washington, D.C., office Monday. Nader said Obama should "candidly describe the life of the poor." Photo by Judy DeHaas Ralph Nader, who is running for president, talks about Barack Obama in his Washington, D.C., office Monday. Nader said Obama should "candidly describe the life of the poor." Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader accused Sen. Barack Obama, the presumed Democratic Party nominee, of downplaying poverty issues, trying to "talk white" and appealing to "white guilt" during his run for the White House. Nader, a thorn in the Democratic Party's side since the 2000 presidential election, has taken various shots at Obama in recent days while ramping up his latest independent run for president. In a wide-ranging interview with the Rocky Mountain News on Monday, he said he is running because he believes Democrats, like Republicans, are too closely aligned with corporate interests. Economic exploitation Nader was asked if Obama is any different than Democrats he has criticized in the past, considering Obama's pledge to reject campaign contributions from registered lobbyists. "There's only one thing different about Barack Obama when it comes to being a Democratic presidential candidate. He's half African-American," Nader said. "Whether that will make any difference, I don't know. I haven't heard him have a strong crackdown on economic exploitation in the ghettos. Payday loans, predatory lending, asbestos, lead. What's keeping him from doing that? Is it because he wants to talk white? He doesn't want to appear like Jesse Jackson? We'll see all that play out in the next few months and if he gets elected afterwards." The Obama campaign had only a brief response, calling the remarks disappointing. Asked to clarify whether he thought Obama does try to "talk white," Nader said: "Of course. "I mean, first of all, the number one thing that a black American politician aspiring to the presidency should be is to candidly describe the plight of the poor, especially in the inner cities and the rural areas, and have a very detailed platform about how the poor is going to be defended by the law, is going to be protected by the law, and is going to be liberated by the law," Nader said. "Haven't heard a thing." "We are obviously disappointed with these very backward-looking remarks," Obama campaign spokeswoman Shannon Gilson said. Plans to visit DNC Nader said he plans to travel to Denver during this summer's Democratic National Convention, hoping to highlight an alternative agenda that he thinks the party should pursue. His appearance in the city is sure to anger some Democrats who believe his presence on the ballot during the contested 2000 election cost Al Gore votes, helping Republican George Bush win the disputed election. Nader rejects that blame, saying Democrats "scapegoated" him instead of looking at other factors that contributed to the defeat. 'Appeal to white guilt' Nader said he is not impressed with Obama and that he does not see him campaigning often enough in low-income, predominantly minority communities where there is a "shocking" amount of economic exploitation. He pointed to issues like predatory lending, shortages of health care and municipal resources, environmental issues and others. "He wants to show that he is not a threatening . . . another politically threatening African-American politician," Nader said. "He wants to appeal to white guilt. You appeal to white guilt not by coming on as black is beautiful, black is powerful. Basically he's coming on as someone who is not going to threaten the white power structure, whether it's corporate or whether it's simply oligarchic. And they love it. Whites just eat it up."
  6. Yeah, I would admit to most of that no problem at all. The jury is out on a few of the "major topics", not on energy though. They screwed the Pooch big on energy did nothing. The supply and demand curve only has one side for them, needing to increase the supply. Unfortunately, Clinton did exactly the same thing for the previous 8 years...NOTHING. Bill had pitched a .50 cent a gallon sliding scale tax increase a gallon with the money going to reinvest into renewables. It was a great plan and all of us would have benefited by lower consumption and the resulting investment. The squealing on both side of the asile was so loud that it was immediately withdrawn and then....THE NOTHING. So we all get to pay now.
  7. ha ha! It is a better story! ________________________________________________________________ Oh my! Opps Edited by akholick ( 32 minutes 0 seconds ago)
  8. 3 whores, 4 bottles of patrone, one bottle a mccallens', prescription to acyclovir and I am broke again. should have gotten some trojans too... would have been cheaper long run. well, I wuz gonna toss big props out there as you kept the money in the US and helped bolster the economy..... then I realized that the drink came from offshore and that money went to Mexico and Scotland, and ya probably woke up hungover, so I guess it's all a wash there..... My check disappeared about 3 seconds after my wife opened it....it could have gone just about anywhere.
  9. Can't imagine how that could have happened... ! Must be part of an epidemic: hope your's is better as well. I almost can't play ping pong at work. Typically play 6-9 games a day. It's made my ping pong partner happy, cause everytime I reach for that killer forehand slam and wince in pain and then miss it, he gets a point instead of a ball crammed down his throat. After many, many, many months of losing, he's now consistently winning. The crowing noises from the other side of the table are a bit difficult to listen too, but other than the pain, I suspect that it's been good for us both:-) Hope that you all had a great time out there.

    Grasping At Straws

Exactly, and this looks gets even more obvious the closer he stands to Obama.
  11. Had to be the case. So very sad for the families but I hope that they can have some peace now. But admirable from the crew that went up: big respect to that awesome crew. I generally rest easy in the woods, oblivious and impervious to rockfall, avalanches or Mountain Lions dragging my wide ass out into the woods knowing that you bastards would all immediately rush up to come get me just to fish my gear out of the tent and divy it up. Take care all!

It's the only thing about the internet he knows. He refuses to use it because he heard that Al Gore invented it.
  13. Perfect! See ya there. Update: my shoulder has been hurting all day from trashing it this weekend, so I may blow you all off tonight. You've got plenty of folks to belay though, so I 'm not leaving you all in the lurch.

  15. Thanks Kev, hey lets do a planned yank before someone does a Slim Pickens riding the A-bomb on Dr Strangelove move of that big assed rock midpoint 2 routes to the left of Kung Foo. You can ask Dan about the size of my shaft on my prybar and how that went for us on Tiger Paws. Dan: Eric wants to know what routes: this is your guys call, name the tune and I'll dance.

  17. Anyone for a few laps at the butte tonight after work, say 5:30pm?? Anyone? _____________________________________________________________ sigh......... Quarrelsome Russian anus lickers polish off a bottle of beer, commonly Corona (variations like Schmirnoffs) and smash it on the rocks for a finale. They use to do this with every bottle in a 12 pack, last year I picked up a full 5 gallon pail of glass at the Bill's Buttress area, like 2 inches from the top of the bucket. We've had some heated discussion and some calm ones. The calm ones seem better but none of them effect change. Once I had the distinct impression as I was getting into hard it with 5 of the pricks: that as they moved into my space - they would toss me off the top of the cliff if I kept it up. I've pretty much done every thing but put holes in the motherfuckers with my 12ga, and I've gotten some of it to cease, but not all. Bottom line: the police non-emergency number is 503-823-3333, call it if you even see these pricks just sitting quietly at the top of the cliff drinking beer up there, and the police will come out. These jackasses will throw the glass down on you even after you have had a calm discussion and they claim to not to throw bottles but to clean up and pack it all out.

  25. Like this fine example of a poor attempt at snide opinion, which is not even a clearly defined snide opinion at that. Full paragraphs people, lets make believe some of you have mastered the 8th grade even if it means stretching your personal boundaries. 3rd grade edumacation may still allow you into the voting booth if you are 18, but lets keep that off this site hey? And don't forget that computers some with spell check ! Thank you all for listening.
