plaining on a trip down in end of june, for 2weeks. and i am looking to cut costs as much as posible with the ever riseing gas prices. so heres the deal i can fit 6 people in the van comfortably( or cram 7). it was about 120 one way last yr, thats 240 both ways, with gas prices up it won't be more than 400 both ways but at $400's its about 66 dollars a piece. camping would also be cheeper plaining on leaving like the 15 or so and coming back at the end of the month who's in?

also castle rock makes a good day if u don't want to hike back to SC: midway, canary, angel is doable (hard but short route) saber, oh btw beware of the 5.8 on the far right of alfebet rock, its a flaring crack and i personaly didn't like it too much meat grinder is an easy 10 a with only one move of 10a and the rest is 5.9 also on alfebet, gilivers is good and close to alfebet. bo derick is kinda hard but its on the way down from gilivers

screw all that B.S if hes an experianced climber, and ok with multipitch, take his ass up outer space the top 3 pitches are stellar straigh forward cracks awsome gear and plenty of good rests

looking to do some moderate ten's or easyer btw mostly trad maybe some bouldering

i get off work at 9am and have the whole weekend free any one up for some trad? squamish, index or where ever

crack was good like maybe 5.8 the tope 6ft or so was just about chicken wing, deffinatly the crux was topping out specaily in sneakers

dam dru... #2 is the only reason i do it

btw there are some good route in which the crux is right off the belay, exasporator for instance

thats not a directional thats a "jew" piece as e-rock and i so afectionatly call it, i only use dirt for when the sec is well secounding the pitch

its just more comfortable thats all not really for back up but i could be used that way thats why i brough it up

i don't do much alpine sorry mostly cragin its pretty convenaint for me

down fall ofcourse is if the piece pops. i had a nutt come out once which end up putting alot of slack in the line but the sec didn't fall, my nutts thanked him very much for not doing so

i ussally use a 3 piece anchor with another piece for directional or 2 bolts sometime with another piece for directional. and i always put the peice up as high as i can reach, this way its not in the way for belaying and is like belaying a tr'ed climber rather than haveing the wieght on my nutts if and when the person falls( straight off harness) or an akward brake position( if off ancohrs that are chest high or lower), but i also don't have a reverso, with one i'd be more inclined to belay off the anchor itself. my 2 cents

i ussally put in a peice to use for a directional clip rope though it and belay off harness, so the sec falls, its on that peice instead of anchors and or me, course that piece could fail but with a tr fall it would have to be a really bad placement.

its been awhile and i know i was timid myself the fist time i did it but if i remeber right its like a 5.7 move and bigg jugs when u get out there, you guys are just thinking way too much about it
