Light on Yoga, BKS Iyengar. That old guy rocks. An Introduction to Quantum Field Theory, Peskin and Schroeder. Guaranteed sedative. Harry Potter books. More entertaining than cc.com? Hustler is aid.

Fence sitter, what are you calling too low? I don't think I've been above 5% body fat at any time in the last 3 years, and I don't know of any adverse health effects. I don't monitor my fat intake at all, but I definitely don't drink cokes. Activity level up, cokes down. Also, I think eating more often and smaller portions makes the body tend to store less fat than larger meals 2-3 times a day. More than anything, I'd say be active. Walk to the store, ride bike across town, etc.

Nicely done! That's an accomplishment I might like to reproduce for myself, but I'll hold off on saying, "I wish I could have been there." What, no skis?
-
What are you talking about? Those runnels were great! Not quite Picket Range quality runnels, but what do you expect on the Squak?

Please disregard the comment about dignity. I don't think I should say whether anyone can or can't live with dignity. There are too many circumstances to make some statement like that. But the stands.

I spent a couple months living with those guys, not exactly by choice. (Not by choice any more than anyone else there made SOME bad decisions.) I don't think there is a way to live like that with dignity. You're right about the dirtbag climbers thing, but so the fuck what? Yeah, I'll take my bullshit comments to spray next time. Oh, wait...

You're totally right. You're way better off in Santa Cruz. Just stay down there, OK? Can you post some pictures of hotties in bikinis for us pasties up here? Thanx.

Between the avatar and the response, I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy inside now. I think I'll go make a post in the 'I like lummox' thread.

I'd love to go water skiing! How 'bout next weekend? I don't have a boat, but I'll pitch in on your gas/buy some beers/whatever. Sky

Dirtbags can post on cc.com. You guys ever heard of a library? They have FREE MEMBERSHIPS! I used to see bums hanging out surfing the web in Multnomah County Library, downtown P-town. Those guys are definitely dirtbags.

Has anyone else noticed the rock formation just below the rabbit ears Jeff made his avatar? The rabbit ears are easy to spot from the other side, but not from the north. I hereby nominate cock rock as the most distinguishing landmark of the ridge. Frostbite Ridge comes with its own tool.

Yeah, but if not, damn it, I'm gonna hike 30 miles.

I hate losing stuff, too, but at least you had a good trip, eh?

Congratulations, guys. Isn't it hard to concentrate on other stuff?

My wisdom teeth were impacted. They put me on Thorazine and an IV to knock my ass out while they shattered my teeth, cut my gums, and extracted them piece by piece. The dope didn't knock me out, though. At one point I sat up and told the surgeon that it was so cool I could feel him shattering my teeth without pain. Anyway, I got dry sockets and everything, and I was still working like two days later. Make sure they give you some Vicodin!

The slope up out of the summit crater wasn't really soft, it was still icy. We just used small features, etc. It's all good, it's best to climb in your comfort zone, whichever way you prefer, and most importantly without injury. On another note, why does everyone carry over on Frostbite Ridge? It's not very hard to descend. Personally, I like to be able to climb light. (Must be why I always carry skis?)
-
I read that. It sounded like he was way out of balance. Now he climbs much less frequently, with his kids and what not. I didn't think it was a knock on climbers, but maybe a call to people who shun other responsibilities. Party like a rock star, OR have a family, but not both?

lummox-you gotta boat? I'm down to go water skiing.

I would like to respectfully ask everyone to keep their third tools away from me, thank you very much. Ha ha.

See the video linked in this thread for what I mean by 'killer corn': http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB2&Number=217916&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

I just skied killer corn on Kennedy and Vista Glaciers on Glacier Peak last weekend, neither of which had much sun cupping. It's a lot of work to get there, though. Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan are good late season bets, too.

Man, I can't wait to check out the Chilliwacks!
