    music these days...

It's fun to see the kids discovering the classic music. I get a kick out of it and I keep reminding my son that it improves his cultural literacy!

    music these days...

My daughter is into Avril Levigne bubble-gum pop these days and it gives me a splitting headache and makes me want to throw up...kind of like altitude sickness!
  7. It was in the bullshit tribute thread Rob.
  8. Have you tried http://www.gorge.net/? They have a classified section.
  9. Snobs! I like 'em all over
  10. MUCH simpler than PCs! But just like PCs there are upgrades. Remember I'm on a 4 year old iMac...and still going strong!
  11. You can use an old firewire device on a new firewire iMac (backwards compatibility), but I doubt you would be able to use a new firewire device on an old firewire iMac (forwards compatibility). You can't teach an old dog new tricks (at least not without a hardware upgrade!). From the Apple website: Backwards Compatibility Manufacturers have adopted FireWire for a broad range of devices, such as DV cameras, hard drives, digital still cameras, professional audio, printers, scanners and home entertainment. Adapter cables for the FireWire 800 9-pin connector let you use these FireWire 400 products on the FireWire 800 port. that's what I thought!
  12. well at least you're getting warmer dalius - thanks! I'll be using the firewire to download photos from a Nikon DH1 (high end digital camera). We currently use the 400 firewire for video and iPod. My low-end digital camera uses USB.
  13. well it already supports firewire...I just need to know if I can use the 800Mbps firewire (currently using 400Mbps)
  14. Well that's why I asked IAIN initially but he doesn't seem to be hearing me
  15. Can I use the newer high speed firewire on my older model iMac? (graphite edition circa 12/1999)
  16. Did anyone get out there and venture between the raindrops?
