On the other hand, how about the 26 Israeli pilots, current and retired, who had the balls yesterday to sign a letter refusing to obey orders in future to bomb Palestinian targets where they know they will kill women and children? I give those men the medal of valor for the day---they were emphatic about their love of country, but refuse to execute what they know are immoral acts.

hey I'm not a Demo, and I enjoy my guns. I just think people should use common sense and good judgement, and all I hear is extreme positions from either side.

For what it's worth, I own guns and personally I've made a decision not to keep them at home while my kids are small. When I was 3 or 4, I was playing with my older sibs, and one of them jokingly said something about a gun...I went inside and came marching out with one of my dad's shotguns. While it wasn't loaded, and my older brother grabbed it from me, the memory of having done something stupid like that proves to me that having guns in my home, with little kids, isn't the right thing to do.

Caveman has said a mouthful of wisdom here...which says a lot about the situation we find ourselves in in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have a relative staying at my house right now, on leave from a civilian job in Saudi, and I've been discovering just how little I have really understood about that culture. The average Westerner has no idea about life in the muslim world, the arab world, africa, se asia.
