  8. Looking to do some routes in the desert tomorrow. 5.8-5.11. Any takers? Do you still need a pass to park there?
  9. The Classic Cracks area at Tum Tum is closed to climbers due to it being on private land. The landowners home is to climbers right of the area on the north side of the road approx .1 miles from the old parking pullout. He might let you climb there if you ask nicely ahead of time. He showed mercy on us and let us finish even though we hadn't asked permission. His main concern is liability. I noticed on the WCC site that there is a specific washington law that limits his liability when climbers are on his property. I am working on this issue with the property owner. If anyone would like to help, feel free to contact me. Especially if you live in Spokane and climb at Tum Tum. Roadstead? Pindude? etc. Joe Lind CDA

  17. Gotta agree with Marty on the sandblasting. However, picking up garbage isn't quite what I would call being a tree hugger. It's as considerate as picking up your shell casings.

    Ojibway

OK. I did the Standard Route. I can't speak for how the overall rig will protect because I had none. I think if a 5.6/5.7 leader were onsighting this it may seem a bit run out in spots.

    Ojibway

After being motivated by the new book I decided to head into Ojibway above rock lake and take a look at the face. Ended up doing the standard route. The crux 5.7 moves through the roof are not so bad. Don't skip them. They look like they protect well. Typical of most slab climbs it appears that it will be run out. The climbing is excellent and is probably 5.6 on most every pitch. 7 pitches is realistic. I ran into some looseness just below the North Ridge. Don't get lured into the gullies on the approach. The terrain on the steep slopes beside the gullies is much easier to navigate. Definately recommend the MTB. I wish I had mine.
  22. I am good for both. I can swing leads of course. PM me. I've been half way up DHLA. Really need to finish it.
  23. Need partner for Index/Leavenworth on 8-27 and 8-28. Really want to do DHLA at Index. Swinging leads would be great but not Mandatory.
  24. Planning on heading over at the end of the month and doing this traverse. Can I get by with one rope? Also, how long does it take to get to the base of the North Face of the North Peak? I'm in pretty good shape and will be traveling light. Any other beta is appreciated.
  25. Stashing the bikes at the upper trailhead for a ride out is genius.
