  2. Hey Mod's, can we get this moved to Events so we can maybe drum up some more peeps. CC.com's gonna take over that bitch this weekend
  3. Thanks Colin Now I'm thinking about Patagonia instead of Pakistan. F'n eh, I gotta quit this addiction. Grade A show dude
  4. Yeah, there's still shit left to climb out there, way out there
  5. Oh, that's a good burn....I'll have to tell him tonight
  6. Join the club.... http://www.weekendclimber.com
  7. No hater here, I just hate the game...
  8. ...if you plan to hang on your umbilicals
  9. Whatever, you are not a programmer.
  10. No, Kevbone. I think the point is that if you are sooo into climbing one would think that one would bone (kevbone that is) up on the history of said sport. I just find it funny when someone who is older than me doesn't know about a particular historical character prevalent in climbing history. Now, there are extremes to both ends, for instance, CBS has far too much knowledge of climbing history. It's quite erie actually
  11. I think the dude I'm working with is a little dense. The kid that came in and did the quote with us had the system down to a 'T'. It's hard when you have to talk to an adult like he's a teenager
  12. Hows the kiddos KFed?? I guess I just have to remember the three virtues of a good programmer (at least for Perl): hubris, laziness, and impatience http://www.netropolis.org/hash/perl/virtue.html
  13. I agree. I've lived in three states and have visited on various occasions all but 7 (RI, CN, NJ, DL, NH, VT, MN) and have to say that Alaska and Washington by far have the most outdoor activities available. Can't find any significant glaciated peak outside of AK or WA, some great rock climbing (Index, Leavonworth, WA Pass), Alpine peaks, hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking, canoeing, hunting (not that I do any), ice climbing (kinda), birdwatching (again, not into it, but whatever), etc.... Not too many states you can find all of that in.
  14. ...programmers. It's hard enough to try to explain how something should work, then when you get it back from them and it does something else entirely you have to explain it all over again. By the time the thing work the way you want it to, you basically wrote the whole fucking program by yourself in pseudo-code, and might as well have done the whole thing in basic the first time round :anger:
  15. I have a 3 buckle boot with a power strap at the top. It's been working great for me for the last two seasons. Just as a qualifier though, I suck at skiing, so there you go
  16. One thing to add, is that double (half) ropes are generally rated to take a few falls on a single strand. This gives you the option of having two followers, one tied to the end of either rope, since falling while on top-rope does not generate anywhere near the forces that a leader fall does. Of course, that is if the belayer isn't giving the followers penatly slack for having to be rope gunned up the pitch.
  17. What do Walrus's and Tupperware have in common? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . They both like tight seals bum dum bum ching
  18. I'm not going to argue for or against it. All I know is if you are on a rope with me and you do something I consider stupid or unsafe, I have no problem untying from your lame ass. Stoned, drunk, or just plain ignorant, I make no distinction between any of them.
  19. I had a chance to read the Slesse article while Fred was working on it. It's a good one
  20. I bought a pair of Verve pants when I first started climbing 15 years ago. I think I used them twice and now they sit in my drawer of unused climbing crap. Maybe I'll have to bring them to Smiffy Tuff Love this year....Hmmmmmmm.....
  21. Camera Skillz in da house.
  22. Um, fuck you dickhead, you don't even know those guys and I do. I know for a fact that the one climbing was in no way in any altered state.
  23. I wonder if Pope and Raindawg remembered to renew their memberships this year
  24. Damn, I lose. I bet Raindawg would have chimed in first. Guess he's still on the other side of the pond.
  25. I'll bet anyone a months salary that you cannot beat this guy at tying knots.
