MLK day Is the justice Sandra Day O'Connor? If so, I would hardly consider her any sort of gift to the nation.

    end of an ERROR

How can you idiots argue the validity of one of Kerry's medals (among many) and not be bothered by the rich-kid draft dodging of Bush? One purple heart seems pretty damn minor compared to all the strikes against bushy. Treason? BWAHAH.. Moron.

What have they done that deserves any sort of respect? In both cases the country has been worse off 4 years after they started in office. History is the final judge, and my guess is 50 years from now, GB2 will be regarded as one of the poorest presidents in history.

Yeah Peter, obviously that's a great way to put Dru in his place...a comparison of penis size between the US and Canada. Dru may or may not be an idiot, but our neighbors to the north have a lot going for them...lower murder rates, resonably sane health care, etc.. I find it laughable taht you also post some sort of support for his economic principles. It's ok to admit that his performance in that department was sorely lacking, but he did other good things. No president is going to get everything right.

Also, I just realized that I think the two bushes are probably the only presidents I cannot respect in any way. All the rest, independent of their policies, I can say that they were a president, and I respect them. The two bushes (the latter especially) are such completely incompetent asshats that I cannot express any sort of respect for them.

The fact alone that the christian coallition didn't like him makes him better than your average republican in my eyes: Another conservative, Ralph Reed, former executive director of the Christian Coalition, viewed the Reagan presidency with chagrin: “His eight years in office did little to transform a political culture that had become insensitive to religious values and uncaring about innocent human life.” Also, Dru, a whole lot of people, some liberals included, do believe that reagan's spend spend spend military budget had a good deal to do with bringing the soviet union to collapse as quickly as it did. My dad, who is as liberal as they come, has agreed, saying that it may well have brought the cold war to an early end. Like I said, I don't know much about Reagan, but looking at what he did, he seems to be vastly superior to the pile of shit the republican party has become. You certainly can't compare him to the likes of either bush, cheney, rumsfled, orrin hatch, asscroft, ternt lott, newt gingrich, and so on and so on...

I think his decision is sound. It is especially in germany's best interest to portrait it as a victory against the nazis, not generally. I have little sympathy for nazi war-dead. If german citizens think it's disrespectful of "german" war dead than they can take that up with the 40 million french, polish, russian and jewish dead.

I dont remember him, but I guess he seemed ok for a republican. Too bad his economic policies didn't work for shit. Then again, the name was applicable, if "trickle down" refers to urine.
  9. OK, since it's not your first time, I feel stupid even saying this, but why not, I'll mention it anyway. When practicing the rescue back up the victim on a very well anchored second rope. I actually ran across some people that appeared to be practicing and the guy in the hole wasn't otherwise backed up. That was one of the more retarted things I've seen. If you are going somewhere with a short approach, just equalize a shitload of pickets or something.
  10. Pfft...who *doesn't* like post-holing in slush??
  11. Yes, cause this strategy works wonders in a white out.
  12. Anything that pisses of Utah and it's residents is probably something good.
  13. Does anybody else think this looks exactly like the curve where will ferell in the fez and austin powers fight??
  14. Cause we're humans...it's our job. Don't bother complaining about it or fighting it, cause it aint gonna change.
  15. Thanks John. I was thinking that north side might sport a good ski.
  16. This thread is definitely not going the direction I had hoped.
  17. Well done.
  18. We had a thread that turned into chicks with guns. With the gun issue being such a hot button on this board, I propose we keep with something any red blooded american guy finds sexy... hot chicks on motorcycles Personally, I'm not a big "cruiser" fan so I like them on crotch rockets more, but let's see them all...
  19. 1 - Coalition Provisional Authority. 2 & 3 - I don't care and I doubt the Iraqis do either. I bet the large number of Iraqis who do not want us there care. If we are trying to project the image of helping, and not taking over, that doesn't help a whole lot. If it's inside a coallition headquarters, that is a different matter. Remmeber when the statue of saddam was being toppled and some moron put an American flag on his head? That wasn't exactly a public relations win.
  20. Thanks guys! Is it possible to approach Constance from the north /northeast via tunnel creek? There is a road that goes a ways in, but it looks off-trail after that. Would it be brush hell or is there some sort of old tread?
  21. What is the CPA building? Wouldn't that mural be seen as a bit...imperialistic? or was it actually put up by the Iraqis?
  22. It puts mount rushmore to shame!
  23. Holy crap! I actually called the royal robbins correctly They are indeed very comfortable...I can't imagine wearing much besides that type of clothing in a desert environment. My friends vector (of that exact same model) finally died this past month. He had REI replace it for a brand new one. So on a serious note (well, as serious as a thread like this could get), how well do the UV protective shirts work? And are they comfortable when very sweaty? I'm sick of the really thin long underwear shirt for the summer since you get burned through the thing anyway, and it's hot. I'm wondering if something more airy like that would be the way to go.
