Seriously man. Dru, if some of us still want to ski or whatever, just drop it. I'm sorry we aren't all on your set climbing season schedule.

Oh fuck yeah! Dude is incredible! I bow down to him. I was just making a crack at the appeal of hardcore road cyclists. They don't exactly have what I would consider the best bodies, but then again, I'm not a woman, so who knows...
-
Yeah, nothing like anemic dudes!

The chocolate glacier on GP looks sweet, but if the forecast doesn't improve I'll avoid a volcano.

amen! The cascades are a big range. There is always someplace to climb. Also, what is the point of owning all that fancy ass goretex, expensive tents, etc. if you don't need them every once in a while? If it was always nice I'd sleep under the stars and never drag a raincoat out.

If you want something a bit more technical going up the north ridge and down the C/D made for a very nice tour of that side of the mountain. If you aren't used to climbing moderate technical ground with skis on your back, I'd stay away tho. Avoiding them hitting the slope above you can be tricking...
-
HA! I'd love to see one actually driving off road.

Download USAPhotomaps. It will probably be the best thing you've ever seen I now have nearly all the north cascades cached so I can scroll amongst the arieal photos.

I just got the 45. I went with the smaller one cause it can carry way more than 45 with minimal extension. One huge plus is this tihng carries skis awesome even tho it wasn't really designed as a ski pack. the tails slide beneath the bottom compression strap (protected by hypalon) so you can still lash stuff to the side with the strap. It's an awesome setup for attaching skis and boots to the pack to reduce width over the stupid boots in teh ski arrangement.

The cayanne is the stupidest new vehicle out. Dr. Porsche must be rolling in his grave. What was his phrase..."performance through lighter weight"?? Yeah, he must have been thinking of a bloated 2 ton + SUV

Yeah, the buck creek approach is the way I would go...I was up there the other day. But you still have to cross the suittale at some point, right? I can't imagine wading across would be safe, or even possible. The rivers in the area were flowing really fast the other day, and I have to imagine the suiattle is bigger than any I saw...

The girl that suggested this wasn't so pleased when I shouted out "mud people" following the request for a new term. Everyone else seemed to like it

Lance embodies two things that americans love...a big comeback and euro's getting their asses kicked.

Agreed, the element is a cool design in a terrible looking package. At the very least they should offer an option where they paint all that awful looking grey plastic body color.

OK, I thought I had seen it all with PC. In a history class we are currently discussing the 60s. So today a few minutes before history class I see the prof talking to some girl in the class. Everybody in the room is talking so obviously I have no clue what they are talking about. As soon as class starts he annouces that he was talking to shelly (or whatever he said her name was) and she pointed out that "hippie" could be considered a pejorative word, and we should see if we could come up with a different word. I couldn't fucking believe it. We can't call hippies...hippies? Since when is that insulting? Hippies refer to themselves at hippies. This had to be the most idiotic PC moment I have ever witnessed.

Has anybody climbed GP from this side? From arieal photos, it almost looks like going straight up chocolate creek might be the most reasonable approach from the suittale river trail, rather than whacking through the forest. I can't tell from the picture but it looks like the river bed is an old volcanic mud flow or something. It looks fairly flat. Anybody have a guess?

The Murano and Pacifica have to be two of the most ridiculous vehicles on the road. I honestly wonder if all those Murano owners even looked at the vehicle before purchasing. I just can't see somebody saying "wow, this is a great looking car"

WTF is up with initiation fees? I hate places that charge that. Like it's some honor to be accepted and be able to pay them for something.
-
Well there you go! $25 off. Can't beat that, eh? - Jerome I think he was saying that $40/month is not much of a deal considering you can get a membership for $45/month. At least that is how I interpreted it. $70/month is the family membership.

This might be true if you had heard at least something positive about the country from the man. Can anyone here recall any? Did Josh ever say, "Hey! That is good policy?" Jim, you are implying that my premise is based on merely one quote? The absence of me congragulating George Bush on what of his asslick policies equals me thinking my country sucks? You, sir, are a moron. Why do you people always put words into my mouth? Did I say this? No. Did I mean this? No. Then you still haven't said exactly why I "hate my country"

yes, strength and savagery when actually fighting is one thing, committing it against prisoners is an entirely differnt matter. This is the reason the geneva convention came to being. Your defense of the acts is just stupid. There is one thing I agree with you on, however...the whole apology to the arab world thing. We needed to take the stand on that and say we are very sorry there was mistreatment, but fix your own society before you talk. That part of the word gets a blank check do to whatever you want as long as you support our need for oil. As you said, Saudi Arabia.

http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/futuremodel.aspx?familyid=1060&pictureid=&usage=Image&src=future "Ford describes the Freestyle as offering the looks of an SUV, the versatility of a minivan, and the confidence of an all-wheel drive sedan. " Yes, cause clearly the selling point of SUVs is their staggering good looks. Basically they are saying this thing is a cross of a bunch of vehicles and doesn't do any of their jobs very well.

A different perspective on what exactly? That humilating prisoners is ok? Nope, there is something called the moral high road...no need to stoop to the level of these barbaric fucks.

I agree in helping the downtroden but there are much better ways to do it then handing out spare change. Give to charity, support shelters, job creation programs, drug treatment help, etc. I'm sorry if it's mean to the homeless people who really are looking to better themselves but I am not going to take the risk that I am feeding some fuckstick's alcohol or crack problem.
