I know what you are talking about. Prusiks grip by bending the line. Doesn't make a scrap of difference in the real world, in my opinion. There's too much "lore" going around w/o enough testing to back it up.
Atomic R:ex. I have a pair waiting for the binders to come (freerides, actually). Heard good things about the r:ex (older, 10ex), but damn expensive if you can't get a pro deal. We'll see if I get them mounted before all the snow melts
I also have several friends from back in the day who are pretty damn proficient with firearms and are as "liberal" as you seem to label me at times. This is a stupid comparison.
I was also referring to the standard question that must be asked before and after every sandy headwall venture, what elevation did you cross Dwight Yoakum ridge? nice climb tex! killer ski down isn't it...oh wait...hope you got a nice hike in around the the scenic palmer on the way down.
not sure but it only recently dropped back into the 20's. It was in the 40's all night only 24 hours ago, miserable. Look for some rate increases on the electric bills this fall!
I set up a script to track this coming windstorm up on Mt. Hood to see how bad it gets up there. It just clocked winds at 95mph at the top of the magic mile. Check it out here.
