A) condeleeza rice is not good looking and you guys are blind
B) funny how all this talk about USA's badass toys comes on this date, as if the reassure that we are in fact badass.
C) the answer is yes, we are badass. and I just can't imagine we need yet another aircraft carrier though they are cool. imagine how much stool per minute is produced on one of those. it boggles the mind!
Tracker 100% all the way. Far and away the most reliable finds, in my opinion. You can grid it out with the tracker when gridding becomes valuable, pinpointing w/in a meter or so.
Barryvox users - does the LCD display work with yer polarized sunglasses. I find the analog/dig. transition annoying.
Big Tracker fan here, I've used most of 'em out there a few times.
screw you guys, I still have a big 'ol goretex armor jacket/bibs and have been glad I had it at times, particularly those times where your headlamp is rimed in the "on" position and you can't take off your hood because it's frozen to your head.
funny how many posts here say "so-and-so said it best", followed by a 5 paragraph pontification
they carry like shit! don't put too much weight in the andinista or you will break your clavicle. but you shouldn't be carrying heavy stuff anyways right
by the sounds of it I expect to see coordinators walking around with headsets on like a wedding or something.
maybe team harsh realm will make a cameo appearance to autograph my miox pen
I think this is what I have. It works well. You have 3 adjustable levels of halogen light for battery conservation, and a backup led that runs off a separate battery once the main ones die (it uses the main batteries otherwise). Pretty slick. Smart features include the ability to fold down the light so the switch is protected from accidental power-on. Annoying feature: it starts flashing when the aa's are almost out of juice to warn you to replace them. It is also fairly expensive at retail price. I am satisfied with it.
unfortunately we are on the cusp of the primary spray season when it starts to rain/snow heavily. bad weather for climbing, not enough snow for skiing.
a simple equation:
0% tuffy-tuff + 0% jib = 100% insanity.
Can't be denied that there is a pervasive one-upmanship on this site. Perhaps it can push people to do great climbing, but the elitism can get hard to handle at times. MtnHigh's trip reports were some of the best and he's a great guy to climb with. The perceived negativity is unfortunate. Do other people feel this way?
