Seems like there are bad apples in every orchard. There have been reporters who have "accidently" left behind mics in i.c. rooms and newschopper pilots popping in on freq. to ask "how they can help" live on tv. But then there are plenty of cool reporters who are really interested in getting the right story and will work with you to make it accurate and helpful. Only takes a few lame ones to get a reputation I guess.

the villard glacier is one of the go-to spots in spring. skiable all the way from the ne ridge. access via pole creek is often an extra 3 miles in early season since there is one shaded spot on the road that holds a lot of snow late. high-clearance trucks can often get through it however. the nw face, viewed from the closed-in-winter mckenzie hwy looks to have some great lines too, but takes a good amount of work to get in there in comparison. a circumnavigation of north sister is fun, though there is a lot of up and down around the north side moraines and spurs.

I'm sure they get tossed all over the place in the crud. You'd have to get them pretty long since I think they are pretty narrow compared to today's skis. Even the r:ex is considered mid-range these days

the best move is when you are passing someone, said tailgater comes up on your bumper, gets impatient and immediately swerves to try to get around on the far right lane, only to be stymied by some geo metro or something, slams on brakes, swerves back over to far left hoping to squeeze by on the right asap. no turn signals used in entire event. even better when you wind up right next to them at a red light after all the work.

people need to chill out and feel lucky to be driving so fast for so cheap at all. seattle has the worst drivers, rivals california traffic.

the r:ex is heavy and expensive. not a good touring choice. the mira is supposed to be phenomenal. if you want some solid and light boards, check out atomic tourguide superlights. super cheap too. There should be some of last year's tuas floating around out there for cheap. All are excellent and pretty light but seems like the top sheet gets beat up in a hurry.

enough of this shorts over polypro thing. yeah it looks bad but I could see it being functional. also, who cares what you look like out there. Not wearing shorts over poly to be fashionable is like arranging the deck chairs on the Titantic for a lot of you.

Oh, and not trusting a water knot for a sling? wtf.
