  1. this is priceless considering the source
  2. Perhaps your plates are being screened
  3. and please use the word "prolly" when you do.
  4. I have used charlet s12's on vertical and overhanging ice many a time and they frontpoint just fine w/o secondary teeth. Unless you have tried these personally, perhaps you should scale back your strong opinion.
  5. They are also a small, local Eugene OR company worth supporting.
  6. Nice... sat: beacon rock sun: elliot glacier
  7. sat: eliot glacier sun: beacon rock
  8. no, because it's easier to untie. Relative knot strength is irrelevant, as has been stated ad nauseum here. Were you referring to him as "chef" or "chief"?
  9. I just thought it was a funny picture. Like wearing a snorkel on a submarine funny.

It is good to have you back!
  11. Oscar the Grouch is like a bad acid trip. Actually the majority of the muppets are. Fraggle Rock is more like a mellow shroom session

    I LOVE midget porn!
  13. The most ridiculous shots of Huber are him soloing that hardass multipitch route in AAJ with a helmet on, many pitches off the deck
  14. OMFG I hope you guys were out climbing this weekend 'cause I see a hell of a lot of nerdy knot posts on Sat and Sun here. The weather was beautiful this weekend. Ice on Sat, Crack on Sun.
  15. I don't tie in with it because it the knot of communists. the mere mention of it makes me go code orange and question your patriotism
  16. the bowline family must be backed up, every time. those suckers come untied looking at em wrong.
  17. nice leggings! and about the figure-8...if you are tying backup knots because you might screw up tying knots...
  18. I think he means using it to set up an anchor system using the rope. a clove hitch would be poor choice to tie in with for a number of reasons. First off, because it's a hitch. Who cares? Tie in with what you want, it's your life. Just don't do something just 'cause. Get some real data.
  19. Again, that's a choice to be made, but once it's made, no bitching about traffic problems! I would personally find it difficult to live my life where my work and home are separated by a mandatory car ride, though 120 miles of hills in the rain a week wears on the mind
  20. If you can ski Hoodoo you can ski anywhere, or so the saying goes...
  21. probably the best skill you can have for backcountry is a good hop turn that gets your skis out of the crud or breakable crust. I still need to work on this. Being able to get down breakable crust with some grace is the mark of a trully good skier, esp. when the consequences of a wipeout are bad.
  22. I would think you could pick back up and be right back where you were within days, even hours. I think skiing has a lot to do with engrams and muscle memory, and you just have to jog that memory.
  23. I feel sorry for people with bad traffic commutes but if you don't want to put up with it, move, or get on the bike. I'm sick of pdx commuters bitching about how narrow the bridge is over the Columbia. Don't want traffic issues? Don't commute to Beaverton from Vancouver!!!
