  5. Either way, after the trial he's going to disneyland bwahaha
  6. people don't use flukes because they flat-out suck to carry around and cut up your stuff after being pounded on. They are a pain in the ass to release. I hate those things. Even worse than pickets and pickets are bad to begin with.
  7. Here's a link to one of Seattle MR's newsletters talking a bit about it, for what it's worth: SMR newsletter Looks like it was actually the metal on the picket that broke. Shows how good my memory is Anyway, pretty strong.
  8. maybe it was the carabiner, I don't remember, needless to say, they can be strong or totally crap imaginary as you prob. well know. Those pickets in the test were built for rescue anchors, so naturally some time was spent getting good placements. I think it was two in series vertically that held best. Also a bollard was pretty much unbreakable in the test if I remember right.

do you get cold hands too?
  10. pull tests have been done up on rainier with rope failure before picket failure... they can be a pain in the rear though. I still seem to carry and place them though.

    aac - alpine news

Hey I saw the leavenworth rope-up review by beck in the AAC club newsletter, with photo of some of the posters on this site, but no mention of cc.com at all. Was this actually a cascade section event or something? I was not there but it seemed like it was more a cc.com deal anyways, nice to see it in there I guess.

    Rushing your shit...

    catbirdseat posting. *vomicon* mwhaha
  14. just that starting move. I'd call the first move off the deck 10a. The rest is skinny 9. The upper section seems a little thin if you go by smith nubbin 9's. It's def. thinner than that 9 to the left. so maybe that's 8 and buckets is 4th class. Whatever.

  18. Remember, if you decide to post an image in a thread using an external url, proxy server logs at peoples' workplace will log it as if the user visited the web site. Please show some consideration when you post questionable external material in threads. It could get someone in hot water pretty easily when they load the thread to read and someone has some nasty avatar image link or something. Obviously it would take a real jerk to go hunting this info and then rat on somebody, but it is there for the right pissed off techie to use. Though to be honest, you should be fired when they see the number of logged connections to this domain...
